Software Engineer II, Ads

What you'll do

• Build and ship end-to-end features across Storefront, Storefront Pro, and API platforms.
• Develop and extend the Carrot Ads API with robust event handling and self-serve documentation.
• Create retailer control surfaces for pricing, ad-load controls, and performance tuning signals.
• Strengthen reporting systems including attribution, product mapping, and automated health checks.
• Improve system reliability by defining partner SLAs and enhancing observability and monitoring.
• Debug complex serving and reporting issues across shared measurement and quality systems.
• Write efficient, well-tested code while maintaining ownership of production deployments and on-call rotations.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of experience building and operating production backend services.
• Strong API design and distributed-systems fundamentals with fluency in Go, Ruby, or Python.
• Demonstrated track record of shipping features end to end with solid testing, observability, and operational ownership.
• Experience debugging across service boundaries and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in ad tech, retail media, or other publisher- or partner-facing platforms (preferred).
• Familiarity with event streaming and reliability patterns at scale such as Kafka, dead-letter queues, and idempotent processing (preferred).
• Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS or GCP, including data or measurement-adjacent systems (preferred).
