Software Engineer, Distributed Simulation

What you'll do

• Design and build backend services to provision and orchestrate distributed test environments on Kubernetes.
• Own platform subsystems end-to-end from initial design through rollout, operation, and user iteration.
• Scale the platform's compute layer by managing capacity, performance, and efficient resource utilization.
• Simplify user interfaces and abstractions for defining complex test topologies without requiring deep Kubernetes expertise.
• Develop deployment tools to ensure consistent configuration across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Improve system reliability through instrumentation, monitoring, and root cause analysis of heavy workloads.
• Mentor other engineers and lead technical design reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to identify platform gaps and implement improvements.

What we're looking for

• Must have 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Must possess a Computer Science degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Must have production experience in Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Python.
• Must have experience building and operating distributed systems or infrastructure platforms in production.
• Must have hands-on Kubernetes experience including knowledge of internals like controllers and operators.
• Must have experience with infrastructure as code and modern build/deployment tools like Terraform and Helm.
• Must demonstrate the ability to own ambiguous, cross-cutting projects from design through production.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
