What you'll do

Develop accurate models for sensors like LiDAR, cameras, and IMUs to simulate performance under various configurations.
Validate that simulated sensor and platform behaviors closely match physical hardware performance in real-world conditions.
Build and maintain software tools using C++ and Python for visualizing and analyzing sensor data.
Conduct technical evaluations of sensor configurations to assess range, accuracy, and other key performance metrics.
Perform optimization studies on sensor placement and platform design to maximize overall system performance.
Create intuitive visualization tools and dashboards to present complex simulation results to various stakeholders.
Refine models and software tools based on feedback from physical testing and deployed systems.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience modeling sensors such as LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, and GPS in simulation.
Proficiency with simulation frameworks including Unreal Engine.
Strong programming skills in C++ and Python for building simulation tools and analysis pipelines.
Experience creating tools or dashboards for visualizing simulation results.
Familiarity with physics-based simulation techniques for accurate environmental and sensor modeling.
Ability to validate and align simulation models with real-world hardware and systems.
An active U.S. Secret clearance is preferred.
