Software Engineer 3, AI Framework Integrations

What you'll do

• Build, test, and ship MongoDB integrations for AI frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and n8n using Python and TypeScript.
• Own well-scoped projects from design through release while managing scope, schedule, and quality on weekly to quarterly timelines.
• Contribute high-quality code to upstream open-source repositories and navigate external maintainer review cycles.
• Conduct exploratory research to evaluate the feasibility of new frameworks and build initial working versions for the team.
• Maintain integration health by monitoring for breaking changes, handling upgrades, and triaging incoming issues after release.
• Improve internal engineering practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing across various versions, and release workflows.
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve cross-team dependencies regarding driver, platform, or product capabilities.
• Develop specialized knowledge in AI builder ecosystems, including agentic patterns, vector search, and retrieval systems.

What we're looking for

• Must have 3+ years of experience building backend systems, libraries, or developer-facing software.
• Must be proficient in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience designing, writing, testing, and debugging software in a shared, long-lived codebase is required.
• Proven ability to deliver scoped projects reliably while managing multiple tasks as priorities shift.
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills are required.
• Interest in modern AI builder workflows, including RAG, vector search, and agentic patterns.
• Open source contributions, especially in repositories not owned by the contributor (preferred).
• Experience with building AI integrations, MCP servers, or working with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes (preferred).
