Engineering Manager

What you'll do

• Hire and lead a team of Python and TypeScript engineers to build integrations for AI frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex.
• Define the technical direction and roadmap for MongoDB’s integration portfolio within the AI ecosystem.
• Perform exploratory coding work and provide technical guidance to unblock the engineering team during project development.
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of integrations, including monitoring, maintenance, and establishing testing strategies.
• Coordinate with external open-source maintainers to ensure high-quality upstream contributions and successful integration cycles.
• Establish sustainable engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and version compatibility management.
• Collaborate with product, sales, and marketing teams to prioritize features based on customer demand and market trends.
• Identify emerging AI technologies and research opportunities to inform strategic investment decisions for the organization.

What we're looking for

• Must have 8+ years of experience building developer platforms, libraries, or high-scale technical systems.
• Must have 3+ years of experience managing a team of software engineers and providing technical leadership.
• Requires strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript to lead teams across both ecosystems.
• Experience with query optimization, distributed systems, and AI coding tools is required or preferred.
• Demonstrated success hiring, mentoring, and growing high-performing engineering teams.
• Proven ability to manage open source software integrations and collaborate with external maintainers.
• Strong technical depth in developer-facing software and the ability to make architectural trade-offs.
• Must be based in Gurugram for a hybrid working model.
