The Software Development Engineer in Test, Retail and Marcom Engineering joins the Marcom Quality Engineering team to lead test automation and quality initiatives for web applications and APIs. You will architect scalable automation frameworks, design accountability systems for staff augmentation, and conduct vendor audits to ensure reliable releases. Your daily work involves implementing integration, functional, and E2E tests while collaborating on AI-powered tools that leverage LLMs for test generation and failure analysis. You will utilize technologies including Playwright, WebdriverIO, XCUITest, and GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Harness to test RESTful and GraphQL services. This role solves the challenge of maintaining quality across large, content-rich applications and distributed, agency-driven delivery models by establishing knowledge management standards and data-driven operational oversight for global marketing communications.
Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks for web applications and APIs.
Drive architectural decisions for test frameworks to ensure trustworthy and actionable results.
Partner with engineers to develop LLM-powered tools for test generation and failure analysis.
Establish knowledge management standards and queryable systems for vendor partners.
Design and run data-driven accountability systems to track quality across staff augmentation teams.
Conduct audits of vendor deliverables including test cases, automation, and defect reports.
Improve testability of features by collaborating with software engineers on mocking and dependency management.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or 5 years of relevant industry experience in the US.
Programming fundamentals for large/shared test codebases and experience designing test architecture for asynchronous, event-driven systems.
Experience testing web applications using modern automation frameworks such as Playwright, WebdriverIO, or XCUITest.
Experience testing RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using automated frameworks and an understanding of API design principles.
Experience with CI/test infrastructure, including tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Harness.
Experience working with vendor teams, including contributing to shared processes and onboarding standards.
Deep experience with Playwright or WebdriverIO, including best practices for browser automation, fixtures, parallelization, and network interception (preferred).
Familiarity with AI-assisted quality techniques, such as using LLM-enabled tools for test generation, failure analysis, triage, or supporting CI/CD quality gates (preferred).
