The Senior Full Stack Web Engineer, Retail & Marcom Engineering joins the Retail Engineering team to build systems connecting products with customers. You will own features end-to-end, transforming requirements and wireframes into high-performance, accessible web applications and the backend services that power them. Day-to-day responsibilities include building complex UIs, designing data models, and developing RESTful or GraphQL APIs. You will utilize technologies including React, Angular, Vue, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Java, Python, and Node.js, while working with SQL and NoSQL stores. The role requires optimizing Core Web Vitals, writing automated tests with Jest or Playwright, and utilizing CI/CD pipelines. You will solve technical problems related to online and physical store experiences, interactive marketing tools, and creative operations while leveraging Generative AI to accelerate engineering workflows.

What you'll do

  • Own features end-to-end from initial requirements and design through API development, UI construction, testing, and production support.
  • Build and maintain complex web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Design and build backend services, data models, and RESTful or GraphQL APIs using server-side languages and SQL/NoSQL stores.
  • Convert designs into clean, reusable, and WCAG-accessible UI components and shared design tokens.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and participate in peer code reviews.
  • Optimize full-stack performance, specifically focusing on Core Web Vitals like LCP, CLS, and INP.
  • Deploy code through CI/CD pipelines while monitoring production health and applying security and privacy best practices.
  • Utilize AI-assisted tools to accelerate development workflows and review AI-generated code for correctness and maintainability.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale enterprise or consumer-facing web applications.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Experience with a framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Proven experience designing and operating backend services and RESTful or GraphQL APIs using Java, Python, or Node.js.
  • Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience building responsive, cross-browser, and accessible (WCAG) web UIs.
  • Experience writing automated tests with frameworks like Jest, Playwright, or Cypress and shipping through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience optimizing performance across the stack using techniques like code splitting, lazy loading, and caching.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants and LLM-based tools in day-to-day development (preferred).
  • Experience with client-side state and data-fetching libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or TanStack Query (preferred).
  • Experience with server-side rendering frameworks such as Next.js or Nuxt (preferred).
  • Experience with cloud platforms and containers such as AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes (preferred).
  • Experience building design systems or component libraries using tools such as Figma or Storybook (preferred).
  • Experience with real-time technologies such as WebSockets or streaming APIs (preferred).
  • Experience with caching, messaging, and observability tools such as Redis, Kafka, or Splunk (preferred).
  • Experience modernizing large legacy web applications (preferred).
