Software Dev Eng, Digital Twin, Amazon Leo joins the Power System team to build ground services that monitor, predict, and optimize power performance across a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites. You will develop production-quality code to ingest large volumes of on-orbit telemetry, run predictive models for satellite energy states, and publish operational constraints to other systems. Daily tasks include building APIs, developing data pipelines, creating automated tests, and participating in on-call rotations to detect anomalies and automate fault escalation. The role requires proficiency in Python or Java, along with experience in C#, C++, or Perl. You will utilize data pipelines, cloud services, and distributed systems to translate physics-based models into scalable services, ensuring real-time health monitoring and operational excellence for satellite power systems.
Ingest, process, and serve large volumes of on-orbit telemetry and power system metrics.
Predict future satellite energy states using orbital parameters and activity schedules.
Compute and publish per-satellite operational limits for use by other planning systems.
Monitor constellation health in real time to detect anomalies and automate fault escalation.
Write production-quality code to build APIs and develop data pipelines.
Create automated tests and participate in on-call rotations to ensure service reliability.
Translate models and algorithms into reliable, scalable production services.
What we're looking for
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or granted asylum.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
Proficiency in Python or Java.
Experience with at least one of: data pipelines, cloud services, or distributed systems.
Familiarity with version control (Git) and software development best practices like testing, code review, and CI/CD.
