As a Software Architect (Solution Architect) within the C&IB Application Architecture organization, you will partner with business, product, and technology teams to design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with strategic objectives. You will lead the analysis of functional requirements and architecture quality attributes, translating complex business needs into technical designs, implementation roadmaps, and governance artifacts. Your daily work involves evaluating trade-offs, managing dependencies, and providing architectural oversight from concept through production support. The role requires expertise in layered, event-driven, API-first, microservices, and cloud-native architectures, alongside experience with SDLC, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines. You will utilize skills in service orchestration, containerization, and security principles like encryption and identity management to solve complex business problems through automation and infrastructure design across various platforms and technologies.
Translate business needs into scalable solution designs, architectural decisions, and implementation roadmaps.
Analyze and document functional requirements and architecture quality attributes for technical projects.
Create and maintain architecture artifacts including sequence diagrams, component diagrams, and design records.
Evaluate technology options, trade-offs, risks, and dependencies to recommend optimal architectural paths.
Ensure all designs comply with enterprise standards for security, risk, resilience, and operational requirements.
Provide technical leadership and oversight from initial concept through production support.
Facilitate stakeholder alignment across business, product, engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams.
What we're looking for
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
The role requires 5+ years of industry-relevant experience in software architecture or related fields.
Candidates must have a strong understanding of application architecture patterns including microservices, event-driven, API-first, and cloud-native designs.
Experience with the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, DevSecOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines is required.
Proficiency in creating architectural artifacts such as sequence diagrams, component diagrams, and technical specifications is necessary.
Candidates must have knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, orchestration, and serverless technologies.
Experience with security architecture principles including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure application design is required.
Strong skills in stakeholder management, communication, and translating business requirements into scalable solution designs are essential.
