Software Architect, Duo joins Team Duo to manage compliance and security obligations including FIPS, FedRAMP, EU Cyber Resilience Act, and Post Quantum Cryptography requirements. This role involves translating complex regulatory mandates into executable engineering projects, triaging CIAM issues, and building systems that integrate with broader corporate compliance processes. The architect will identify architectural gaps in existing production environments, leverage AI to build tools for engineering teams, and provide evidence for auditors while collaborating with product managers on certification-related features. Key technical requirements include experience with microservice-based architecture, modern SaaS applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure, and designing AI-enabled tools. The role requires expertise in regulatory compliance architecture and the ability to coordinate cross-functional dependencies across Security, Product, SRE, and engineering teams to ensure security is designed into delivery workflows rather than handled as ad hoc support.
Translate regulatory and security mandates into executable engineering projects with clear scope and ownership.
Identify gaps in existing software and production architecture to meet compliance requirements like FedRAMP and CRA.
Leverage AI to build tools that help engineering teams meet compliance standards.
Triage Cisco Incident Alert Manager (CIAM) issues and coordinate remediation with relevant engineering teams.
Provide application-level compliance evidence for auditors in partnership with internal engineering teams.
Complete product and security questionnaires for customer compliance and security reviews.
Design and build new AI-enabled tools to support infrastructure and development workflows.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of experience, Master's plus 8 years, or PhD plus 5 years of experience in software development lifecycles and project management.
Experience in microservice-based architecture and building modern SaaS applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Experience with existing software implementations, including designing and building new AI-enabled tools.
Experience in regulatory compliance architecture involving FedRAMP, CRA, PQC, and related frameworks.
Experience translating compliance and security requirements into engineering roadmaps and deliverables.
Ability to exercise cross-functional influence across Security, Product, SRE, and engineering without direct authority (preferred).
Experience building IAM products (preferred).
Experience working in FIPS/FedRAMP environments or with Post Quantum Cryptography transition planning (preferred).
