As an SoC Firmware Engineer within the Hardware Technology organization, you will implement new features and functionalities for premier SoCs. You will partner with various team members on processor sub-system design, algorithm development, firmware development, system debug, root cause analysis, and corrective action. Your daily work involves developing embedded software solutions, crafting specifications for future chips with the silicon team, and building drivers for various IP blocks in embedded environments. You will provide system-level API and firmware functionality to meet product requirements through coding, debugging, and hardware/software integration testing. The role requires proficiency in C, assembly, C++, and scripting languages like Bash, Perl, or Python. Additional technical skills include experience with ARM CPUs, FPGA environments, Verilog, System Verilog, and configuration management tools such as git, Subversion, or Perforce to support pre-silicon development.

What you'll do

Develop embedded software solutions and firmware for current and future products.
Create device drivers for various IP blocks in embedded environments.
Collaborate with the silicon team to craft specifications for future chips.
Perform system debug, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Conduct hardware/software integration testing and communicate results to stakeholders.
Develop firmware and software for pre-silicon environments using simulation or emulation.
Design and integrate code into shipping products under aggressive timelines.

What we're looking for

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant industry experience.
Experience in firmware, device driver, or equivalent development.
Software development experience using C and assembly language with ARM CPUs.
Experience developing low-level drivers and hardware bring-up using test tools.
Proficiency in high-level programming languages including C and C++.
Experience with scripting languages such as Bash/shell, Perl, or Python.
Experience with Configuration Management tools like git, Subversion, or Perforce.
Proficiency in Verilog or System Verilog.
