Snowflake Platform Engineer, AI & Data Platforms

What you'll do

• Monitor and tune workloads using Snowsight Performance Explorer and account usage schemas.
• Optimize query execution by analyzing profiles for disk spillage, Cartesian joins, and implementing acceleration services.
• Design and manage unified storage using Apache Iceberg to enable open-format data queries in Snowflake.
• Develop advanced scripts and pipelines using Snowpark Python and pandas APIs for scalable transformations.
• Automate administrative tasks like environment provisioning and security policy enforcement using Terraform.
• Implement autonomous warehouse management and right-size clusters based on real-time usage patterns to reduce costs.
• Manage Snowflake accounts, virtual warehouses, database objects, and backup strategies via Time Travel and Cloning.
• Enforce security measures including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Multi-Factor Authentication, and data masking policies.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience.
• Experience in Snowflake, Data Engineering, Database Administration, or Performance Tuning.
• Deep understanding of multi-cluster shared data architecture and micro-partitioning.
• 2+ years in database administration or Performance Tuning with specific hands-on Snowflake experience (preferred).
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree (preferred).
• SnowPro Core Certification and cloud-specific associate or professional certifications (preferred).
• Experience with Python, Snowpark, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform (preferred).
• Proficiency in performance tuning, cost optimization, and Lakehouse implementation using Apache Iceberg (preferred).
