JOB TITLE: Silicon Supplier Excellence Engineer
The Silicon Supplier Excellence Engineer joins a team to lead technical engagements between Apple and silicon and IP suppliers on groundbreaking technologies. This senior level design engineer role involves driving technical exchanges across architecture, design methodology, hardware, software, and reliability engineering. Key responsibilities include leading hardware and software verification, validation, and qualification activities while overseeing joint efforts to ensure timely completion. The role requires distilling critical data for data-driven decisions. Candidates must possess experience in digital and mixed-signal integrated circuit design, SOC implementation, and front end and back end digital tool suites including place and route and synthesis. The work focuses on the full silicon development lifecycle, spanning micro-architecture specification, pre-silicon simulation, emulation, and post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and qualification for high volume manufacturing.
Lead technical engagements between Apple and silicon or IP suppliers across all development phases.
Oversee hardware and software verification, validation, and qualification activities to ensure on-time completion.
Drive technical direction with supplier teams in architecture, design methodology, and reliability engineering.
Manage pre-silicon activities including simulation, emulation, and verification.
Execute post-silicon tasks such as bring-up, characterization, qualification, and statistical analysis.
Distill critical technical and business data into actionable information for data-driven decision-making.
Direct multi-functional debug efforts and manage crisis situations during dynamic schedule-driven development.
What we're looking for
BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
20 years of relevant experience.
Proven experience in digital and mixed-signal integrated circuit design and design automation tools.
Hands-on experience with front-end and back-end digital tool suites, including place and route, synthesis, and design verification.
Deep knowledge of EDA tools and approaches for managing design complexity and large technical teams (preferred).
Demonstrated experience in digital, mixed-signal, analog, or memory IC design, fab, package, product, test, applications, or reliability engineering leadership (preferred).
Strong communication, program management, and social skills (preferred).
Comfort with dynamic schedule-driven development, crisis management, and directing multi-functional debug efforts (preferred).
