JOB TITLE: Silicon Supplier Excellence Engineer
The Silicon Supplier Excellence Engineer is a senior level design engineer who leads technical engagements between Apple and silicon and IP suppliers. This role involves driving technical exchanges across architecture, design methodology, hardware, software, and reliability engineering. The engineer oversees joint hardware and software verification, validation, and qualification activities to ensure timely completion. Key responsibilities include distilling critical data for data-driven decisions and managing multi-functional debug efforts. The position requires expertise in digital and mixed-signal integrated circuit design, SOC implementation, and EDA tools for place and route, synthesis, and design verification. The work focuses on the full silicon development lifecycle, including micro-architecture specification, pre-silicon simulation, emulation, and post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and qualification for high volume manufacturing.
Lead technical engagements between Apple and silicon and IP suppliers across all development phases.
Drive micro-architecture specification, pre-silicon simulation, emulation, and verification activities.
Oversee post-silicon bring-up, validation, characterization, and qualification tasks.
Manage hardware and software verification and qualification to ensure on-schedule completion.
Perform statistical analysis for high-volume manufacturing productization tasks.
Distill critical technical and business data into actionable information for data-driven decision-making.
Direct multi-functional debug efforts and manage crisis situations during dynamic development schedules.
What we're looking for
BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
20 years of relevant experience.
Proven experience in digital and mixed-signal integrated circuit design and design automation tools.
Hands-on experience with front-end and back-end digital tool suites, including place and route, synthesis, and design verification.
Deep knowledge of EDA tools and approaches for managing design complexity and large technical teams (preferred).
Demonstrated experience in digital, mixed-signal, analog, or memory IC design, fab, package, product, test, applications, or reliability engineering leadership (preferred).
Strong communication, program management, and social skills (preferred).
Comfort with dynamic schedule-driven development, crisis management, and directing multi-functional debug efforts (preferred).
