The Server Project Engineer joins the CPU Engineering team to develop high-performance, energy-efficient server solutions for data center applications. This role involves planning and executing all project phases from concept to commercialization, overseeing chipset development to ensure KPIs for power, performance, and area are met. The engineer will drive the resolution of engineering issues across subsystems, identify project risks, and influence new development methodologies. Key responsibilities include architecting complex designs at advanced process nodes and managing post-silicon validation, power and thermal convergence, and silicon characterization. Required expertise includes semiconductor architecture, ARM architecture, and SoC development. The role specifically addresses the technical challenges of designing high-performance SoCs featuring memory, coherent interconnects, CPUs, chiplet infrastructure, and power management for hyperscale data center solutions.
Oversee chipset development to ensure all PPA, schedule, and cost KPIs are met.
Drive the resolution of engineering issues across all functional blocks and chipset components.
Identify key project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Identify process gaps and develop new methodologies to meet product specifications.
Manage the project lifecycle from initial concept through to commercialization.
Perform engineering tradeoff analyses for high-performance SoC designs.
Communicate complex engineering status and project updates to top-level engineers and technologists.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
Master's in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 15 years of experience in semiconductor product development (preferred).
Over 10 years of experience in one or more areas of semiconductor product development (preferred).
5+ years in a technical leadership role (preferred).
Expertise in architecting and/or designing high performance solutions in multiple functional areas of high performance SoCs (preferred).
Experience in one or more aspects of commercializing a chipset including post-silicon validation, power and thermal convergence, and silicon characterization (preferred).
