Senior Systems Engineer, Satellite Avionics

What you'll do

• Own the systems engineering execution for avionics hardware from architecture and requirements through production and on-orbit support.
• Translate vehicle and mission needs into clear, manufacturable design requirements for product-level hardware.
• Develop and maintain functional architectures, interface definitions, and verification traceability for avionics products.
• Manage electrical, functional, data, timing, power, and fault-management interfaces between avionics and the broader satellite.
• Lead technical trade studies and cross-functional decisions to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and safety goals.
• Develop and execute verification and qualification strategies to demonstrate compliance with hardware design requirements.
• Resolve complex issues regarding requirements, integration, and verification across development, production, and on-orbit phases.
• Support production readiness by ensuring all acceptance criteria and verification evidence are complete and controlled.

What we're looking for

• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience developing complex hardware systems across the full product lifecycle from concept through production.
• Experience with architecture or system engineering.
• Experience providing technical leadership on high-impact cross-functional technical projects.
• Experience defining and managing interfaces between hardware, firmware, software, mechanical, or vehicle-level systems.
• Experience developing requirements traceability and verification plans.
• Experience supporting hardware integration, verification, validation, or qualification.
