As a Senior Systems Administrator/Helpdesk Engineer, you will join the Chinook program to provide critical technical support for an Intelligence Community customer. You will lead system administration for Linux and Windows-based systems in secure environments, ensuring the stability of infrastructure supporting geospatial analytics, software development, and data services. Your daily responsibilities include diagnosing hardware and software issues, managing support tickets, and architecting complex server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure using VMware and KVM. You will perform OS hardening according to DoD STIGs, manage automation scripts via Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, and Python, and oversee backup and recovery strategies. The role requires expertise in cloud platforms like AWS GovCloud and Azure Government, as well as experience with RMF processes and ACAS scans. You will collaborate with DevSecOps and cybersecurity teams to maintain mission-critical systems.

What you'll do

  • Manage Linux and Windows systems in secure, mission-critical environments.
  • Resolve hardware, software, and end-user technical issues while managing support tickets.
  • Architect and manage server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure using VMware and KVM.
  • Perform OS installation, configuration, hardening, and patching in compliance with DoD STIGs.
  • Monitor system performance and conduct root cause analysis to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Manage automation scripts and infrastructure as code using Ansible, PowerShell, and Bash.
  • Execute backup/recovery strategies and maintain disaster recovery plans for continuity of operations.
  • Participate in security audits, incident response, and operational readiness activities.

What we're looking for

  • US citizenship is required.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a polygraph examination.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and 8-12 years of experience, or a Master's and 6-10 years of experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP).
  • Experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server administration in classified environments.
  • Proficiency in virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM), cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government), and automation tools (Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, Python).
  • Familiarity with STIG compliance, system hardening, ACAS scans, and RMF processes.
  • Experience supporting GEOINT missions or familiarity with DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, and Docker (preferred).
