Senior Staff Software Engineer, Data Platform

What you'll do

• Define and lead the technical strategy for data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, streaming, and serving systems.
• Drive engineering-led cost reduction at the infrastructure layer across the data platform.
• Architect data infrastructure to natively support AI/ML workloads including feature stores and multi-agent architectures.
• Transition the organization from managed-service dependencies toward custom, platform-grade infrastructure.
• Enable near-real-time data availability for fraud detection, financial reporting, and analytics.
• Secure commitment from senior leadership and cross-functional partners on technical priorities and trade-offs.
• Serve as the primary technical voice for Data Platform in org-wide forums and architecture reviews.

What we're looking for

• 12+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed data infrastructure.
• Proven track record of owning end-to-end technical strategy and architecture for an entire data domain across multiple teams.
• Experience transitioning organizations from managed-service dependency toward platform-grade, engineering-built infrastructure.
• Expertise in designing data systems that support ML training pipelines, feature stores, real-time inference, or AI agent workloads at scale.
• Proficiency with technologies such as CDC, Kafka, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Ability to reason about performance, reliability, cost, security, and privacy across the full data lifecycle.
• Experience using generative AI responsibly to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
• A platform mindset and product-manager orientation toward reducing friction for developer customers.
