Senior / Staff Software Engineer, Apple AI and Data Governance

What you'll do

• Design and deploy scalable AI and data governance systems to track datasets, models, and policies.
• Architect authentication and access control frameworks for machine learning training data and model artifacts.
• Develop backend services that embed GDPR, CCPA, and DMA regulatory requirements into AI workflows.
• Build batch and streaming pipelines using Spark, Hadoop, or Flink to transform raw data into governed inputs.
• Design REST APIs, SDKs, and web tools for internal teams to manage governance approvals and compliance.
• Architect fault-tolerant serving systems on AWS, GCP, or Kubernetes to safeguard data integrity and auditability.
• Identify and mitigate risks in complex distributed environments to ensure responsible and ethical AI deployment.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience developing Data & AI governance software or integrating systems with governance systems.
• Experience working with large data collection and processing systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency in data management and building scalable systems that underpin AI applications.
• Strong understanding of privacy and regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and DMA.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams including security, legal, privacy, compliance, and data engineering (preferred).
• Experience in designing and implementing robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards for AI technologies (preferred).
• Track record of identifying and mitigating risks in complex distributed data environments (preferred).
