JOB TITLE: Senior Specialist, Software Engineering The Senior Specialist, Software Engineering designs, develops, and extensively tests complex engineering solutions for advanced tactical radio operating systems and waveform software. Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering organization, the individual participates in all phases of the software development life cycle to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software while meeting operational performance requirements. Key responsibilities include analyzing large existing software systems, developing test procedures, and repairing software defects. The role requires proficiency in embedded C/C++, object-oriented design, real-time multi-threaded programming, and real-time operating systems such as VxWorks RTOS, Linux, or QNX. Preferred technical skills include Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Agile methodology, wireless networking software system design, and familiarity with RF concepts and technology to solve complex tactical communication problems.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and test complex engineering solutions for tactical radio operating systems and waveform software.
Develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software components.
Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle.
Analyze and understand large and complex existing software systems.
Develop software test procedures, programs, and related technical documentation.
Identify, track, and repair software defects.
Implement real-time, multi-threaded programming using embedded C/C++.

What we're looking for

Must be able to obtain a US security clearance.
Must be a US citizen to be eligible for a security clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Proficient with embedded C/C++, object-oriented design, real-time, and multi-threaded programming.
Experience with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks RTOS, Linux, or QNX.
Experience with Git/Bitbucket, continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins), Agile methodology, wireless networking, or RF concepts (preferred).
