As a Senior Specialist Software Engineering (Embedded) within the Agile Development Group division, you will lead the development and execution of software on targeted embedded hardware. You will be responsible for designing software based on requirements documents, investigating root causes of complex issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate interfaces between hardware, firmware, and software. Your daily work involves participating in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, implementation, and formal testing. The role requires advanced skills in modern C++ for embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), specifically involving device drivers and Board Support Packages. You will support technologies such as unmanned air systems, radar systems, and weapon systems. Key technical competencies include mathematical analysis, modeling tools, and experience with Agile Scrum or Kanban processes to solve complex engineering problems.
Develop and execute software on targeted embedded hardware based on requirements and system design documents.
Implement advanced C++ code for embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
Design and evaluate interfaces between hardware, firmware, and software to meet operational performance requirements.
Investigate root causes of complex technical issues and implement solutions independently or with a team.
Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle including analysis, design, integration, and testing.
Create software test plans, procedures, and other relevant technical documentation.
Use modeling tools and equipment to conduct experimental tests, prototype systems, and evaluate results.
Perform peer reviews to identify, track, and repair software defects.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience, a Graduate degree and 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in the computer/software engineering field.
Minimum of 6 years of C++ development in a professional environment.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of War Security Clearance.
Must be a U.S. citizen to be granted a security clearance.
Familiarity with Greenhills RTOS (preferred).
Experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages for real-time embedded systems (preferred).
Experience with Modern C++ techniques and Agile Scrum/Kanban development processes (preferred).
