As a Senior Specialist, Project Engineer, you will hold technical responsibility and authority for assigned programs while coordinating directly with Program Managers to ensure alignment with scope, budget, and schedule. You will lead various Engineering Functional Task Leaders across systems, software, aeronautical, specialty, logistics, and technical publications disciplines. Your daily work involves managing Earned Value reporting via the Labor Tracking System, ensuring technical compliance across manufacturing and hardware interfaces, and serving as a primary technical interface to customers throughout the program lifecycle. The role requires expertise in reliability engineering, root cause analysis, and system status reviews. You will navigate complex project environments involving design, development, testing, and sustainment. Key competencies include experience with ISR systems, COMINT or ELINT sensors, and mission system integration across ground, aircraft, space, or shipborne platforms to solve critical defense technology challenges.
Manage technical scope, budget, and schedule alignment for assigned engineering programs.
Direct and provide guidance to Engineering Functional Task Leaders across various disciplines.
Coordinate with Functional Managers to monitor Earned Value reporting and labor tracking.
Ensure technical compliance across manufacturing and hardware delivery interfaces.
Serve as a primary technical interface for customers throughout the program lifecycle.
Perform reliability engineering and root cause analysis on system issues.
Review system status and repair cycles during regular customer interactions.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant U.S. Military experience on SIGINT platform operations or maintenance may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Experience in at least one area: program planning, engineering execution, bidding and proposals, design/development/test, or various engineering disciplines (Aero, Sustainment, Systems, Hardware, or Project).
Experience in Reliability Engineering and Root Cause Analysis.
Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems experience (preferred).
Capture and Proposal Development (preferred).
Leadership skills, executive communication, mission system integration, sensor experience, production/logistics, and field support (preferred).
