What you'll do

Design and maintain scalable backend services in Python or Go to power underwriting decisions.
Integrate statistical models and machine learning systems to assess and monitor cyber risk.
Create alerts, monitors, and dashboards to ensure system stability and clear incident response.
Write clean, well-tested code including robust unit and integration tests for frequent releases.
Lead small projects end-to-end and act as a technical driver on large initiatives.
Participate in architecture discussions to balance scalability and decoupling of the underwriting platform.
Automate and improve internal workflows used by underwriters and risk teams.

What we're looking for

Experience building and operating backend APIs and services in Python and/or Go.
Hands-on experience with REST and at least one additional transport such as gRPC or GraphQL.
Practical experience deploying and running services in AWS or another major public cloud environment.
Familiarity with modern observability and error-tracking tools like Sentry, Datadog, or Jaeger.
Experience using source control systems like Git and collaborative tools like the Atlassian suite.
Ability to independently drive projects of moderate scope and mentor less-experienced engineers.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
