What you'll do

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Python and/or Go to power underwriting decisioning.
Implement systems that integrate statistical and machine learning models to assess and monitor cyber risk.
Create and maintain alerts, monitors, and dashboards to ensure operational stability and observability.
Write clean, well-structured code including robust unit and integration tests for frequent releases.
Lead small projects end-to-end and act as a technical driver for medium-to-large engineering initiatives.
Contribute to architecture and design discussions to ensure platform scalability and decoupling.
Automate and improve underwriting and decisioning workflows used by internal risk teams.

What we're looking for

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Strong experience building and operating backend APIs and services in Python and/or Go.
Hands-on experience with REST and at least one additional transport or format such as gRPC or GraphQL.
Practical experience deploying and running services in AWS or another major public cloud environment.
Experience using source control systems such as Git.
Familiarity with modern observability and error-tracking tools such as Sentry, Datadog, Jaeger/Zipkin, Graylog, or AppDynamics.
Experience working on an agile software team using collaborative development tools like the Atlassian suite, GitHub, or GitLab.
Ability to independently drive projects of moderate scope, make sound technical tradeoffs, and mentor less-experienced engineers.
