Senior Software Engineer, Release Infra

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain the release infrastructure for deployment pipelines and incident workflows.
• Drive technical strategy and architecture for scalable, reliable, and secure release and observability systems.
• Improve the end-to-end release process to reduce risk and cycle time from code merge to production.
• Build and evolve tooling for observability and incident response to enable fast detection and resolution.
• Identify and mitigate risks in the release and infrastructure stack regarding performance, reliability, and security.
• Define and monitor key metrics like deployment frequency and MTTR to guide infrastructure improvements.
• Debug complex production issues and drive long-term fixes in partnership with infrastructure and product teams.
• Mentor other engineers by providing technical guidance and code reviews to elevate infrastructure quality.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of professional experience designing, building, and operating backend or infrastructure systems in production.
• Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Go, Java, Kotlin, or Python with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and release pipelines including GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Buildkite, Argo, Spinnaker, or Jenkins.
• Experience architecting and operating scalable, high-availability distributed systems on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Deep familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience designing and maintaining observability tooling for metrics, logs, and tracing integrated into incident response workflows.
• Strong understanding of reliability and SRE practices, including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and incident management best practices.
• Experience designing and optimizing SQL and/or NoSQL data storage systems for operational and observability use cases.
