Senior Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and maintain explicit state machines to govern lifecycle transitions and event-driven changes.
• Architect transactional state stores to serve as a single source of truth for high-concurrency operations.
• Implement robust idempotency controls to ensure commands execute at most once and requests can be safely retried.
• Employ the outbox pattern to guarantee atomicity between state updates and downstream event publications.
• Manage distributed systems challenges including network partitions, partial failures, and event ordering.
• Leverage AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools to generate tests, probe edge cases, and accelerate debugging.
• Engineer services with structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing to ensure full auditability.
• Mentor engineers on best practices for building safe, reliable, and maintainable distributed systems.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering.
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise with state machine modeling, lifecycle management, and transactional state stores.
• Experience with idempotent API and workflow design and exactly-once processing.
• In-depth understanding of failure modes in distributed environments.
• Proficiency in one or more contemporary languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools for productivity and code quality.
• Experience with outbox, transactional messaging, or event sourcing patterns (preferred).
