Senior Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and evolve Azure Storage capabilities to support AI platforms, autonomous agents, and hyperscale cloud services.
• Architect scalable control plane and management plane services for high-performance, reliable storage access.
• Solve complex distributed systems challenges regarding scalability, resiliency, and availability at a global scale.
• Implement AI-assisted software development practices including automated code generation, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Integrate intelligent agents to automate engineering, deployment, and operational workflows across Azure Storage.
• Define the long-term architecture and technical roadmap for storage supporting training and inference workloads.
• Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for critical service components and incident response.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C#, C++, Java, or equivalent.
• Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
• Master's Degree and 6+ years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of experience (preferred).
• Experience designing and operating hyperscale cloud platforms, storage services, or distributed systems with a focus on scalability and reliability (preferred).
• Experience applying AI-powered engineering practices, including code-generation tools and agentic workflows (preferred).
• Experience building infrastructure for AI workloads, large-scale inference systems, or data-intensive applications (preferred).
• Technical leadership in driving architecture and strategy for large-scale cloud services and distributed systems (preferred).
