What you'll do

Provide technical leadership and set the architectural direction for the automated deployment platform.
Drive high-level architecture decisions to ensure system safety, speed, and scalability over a multi-year horizon.
Author RFCs and lead cross-team design reviews to influence how other engineering teams manage safe changes.
Integrate AI tools into the platform to automate deployments and assist human operators.
Consolidate fragmented systems for release orchestration, health mediation, feature flagging, and configuration rollbacks.
Mentor team members and perform technical code/design reviews to raise the overall engineering bar.
Translate internal customer requirements into scalable platform capabilities and automated workflows.
Participate in on-call rotations to resolve critical production issues outside of standard hours.

What we're looking for

8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience is preferred.
Experience owning the architecture of complex, distributed, production-critical systems end to end is preferred.
Demonstrated technical leadership in driving RFCs and design reviews is preferred.
Judgment for ambiguity and comfort defining roadmaps in environments with non-specific requirements is preferred.
Deep experience with safety, observability, and automation in production systems is preferred.
Experience influencing technical direction across team boundaries without direct authority is preferred.
Proficiency in AI-assisted development and critical evaluation of AI output is preferred.
Export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
