What you'll do

Own and deliver quarterly goals while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
Support the product development lifecycle by articulating technical constraints and partnering on risk-based decisions.
Proactively identify and lead the resolution of project, process, technology, or business issues.
Monitor system metrics and support "keep the lights on" operations and on-call efforts.
Set and improve code review and design standards to foster a culture of quality.
Develop team talent by providing consistent feedback and technical guidance.
Design and launch scalable backend systems using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

What we're looking for

You have 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
You have a track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
You have experience defining technical plans for significant features with elegant, simple, and extensible designs.
You are proficient at making significant changes in large code bases and developing tools to do so safely.
You have strong verbal and written communication skills to support effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
