Affirm is building the next generation of customer identity and authentication. This role is a hands-on engineering position inside Information Security, focused on designing and shipping core CIAM capabilities that protect customers and support growth.

You will build and operate backend services that power registration, login, authorization, and account lifecycle flows across B2C and B2B experiences. You will work closely with partner engineering teams and ensure identity features are delivered with strong security fundamentals, reliability, and operational rigor.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and operate core CIAM backend services that support customer registration, authentication, authorization, account lifecycle, and profile management for B2C and B2B platforms.
• Implement and extend identity standards such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM in code, ensuring correctness, scalability, and clean integration patterns.
• Develop backend APIs and services in Python and Kotlin that expose identity capabilities to web, mobile, and partner applications.
• Integrate CIAM platforms with internal systems, including user data stores, messaging, fraud signals, and downstream customer platforms.
• Own secure authentication and account flows end to end, including MFA, step-up authentication, device binding, consent, and adaptive authentication logic.
• Automate CIAM infrastructure and deployments using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines, treating identity as a core platform service.
• Monitor, debug, and optimize CIAM services for performance, resilience, and abuse detection in high-scale environments.

What we look for

• Strong experience designing and implementing CIAM systems, with deep, hands-on knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM beyond basic configuration.
• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience
• Strong production experience in Python or a similar backend language
• Experience designing APIs, automation frameworks, and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with GitHub-based development workflows and Buildkite or similar build systems
• Experience with cloud-native development, preferably AWS
• Hands-on experience extending and integrating CIAM platforms such as Okta, Auth0, Ping Identity, ForgeRock, or Azure AD B2C using custom code, hooks, and APIs.
• Solid understanding of backend and distributed systems fundamentals, including API design, data modeling, latency, error handling, and observability.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, plus CI/CD pipelines for deploying backend services.
• Strong security fundamentals applied through engineering, including access control models, token handling, encryption, MFA, and privacy by design.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work closely with product, frontend, mobile, and security teams while owning backend identity services.
• Familiarity with tools such as Cursor and other AI-augmented development environments

The Home and Search Experience team owns the end-to-end search and discovery experience in the Affirm app, spanning user experience, application-level APIs, and the underlying search and ranking systems. Our goal is to define and deliver meaningful initiatives that improve how users discover merchants, brands, and categories, and understand and engage with their available credit.

We work closely with product, data science, design, and partner engineering teams to identify opportunities, ship new features, and continuously raise the quality, reliability, and scalability of these experiences in support of Affirm’s growth.

We are looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer to help define and deliver critical experiences at the heart of Affirm’s marketplace. In this role, you will own high-leverage technical and product initiatives whose outcomes directly influence user discovery, credit engagement, and the growth of Affirm’s merchant network.

What We Look For

• You are familiar with the building blocks of distributed systems, and the technologies like AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• You have previous work or internship designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• You have mastered taking a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, and executing on it by writing clear, easily understood, well tested and extensible code.
• You are comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing feedback to other engineers through code reviews.
• Your experience demonstrates that you take ownership of your growth, proactively seeking feedback from your team, your manager, and your stakeholders.
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration with our global engineering team.

Software Engineer II, Frontend (Purchasing Integrations)

The Purchasing Integrations team is responsible for the JavaScript SDK and frontend infrastructure that power Affirm at checkout. We build the library that merchants embed directly into their storefronts - rendering payment messaging and buttons, initiating checkout flows, and orchestrating secure, real-time communication with Affirm’s web app. This code runs on high-traffic production sites, so performance, resiliency, and backward compatibility are critical. Milliseconds matter, and failure is immediately visible to merchants and consumers.

This role is deeply frontend-focused. Engineers work on bundle optimization, script loading strategies, rendering performance, and Web Vitals, ensuring our SDK integrates cleanly into diverse merchant stacks without degrading UX. We design extensible UI components that support evolving checkout experiences while keeping integration simple and incremental for developers. Security enhancements and modern browser-based communication patterns are core to the work.

The team operates at the intersection of platform and product: building reusable primitives, experimenting with new checkout surfaces, and translating complex requirements into intuitive APIs and polished UI. It’s an opportunity to work on high-scale frontend systems embedded across the web—where engineering rigor directly impacts conversion, growth, and user experience.

What You'll Do:

· With the support of your team’s tech lead and manager, you will break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery of your work.
· You will support your peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs.

Senior Manager, Security Risk Management

We’re hiring a Senior Manager to lead Security Governance and the Security Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) function. This role owns program strategy, operational maturity, and stakeholder alignment for security governance, vendor risk, and third-party integration risk. The manager will drive policy and control frameworks, remediate audit findings, deliver measurable program KPIs, and grow a high-performing team that executes vendor diligence, monitoring, and governance at scale.

Our Security Governance and TPRM programs must move from tactical firefighting to predictable, measurable operations that scale with the business. This leader will set the security risk posture, tighten governance and fourth-party oversight, improve tooling and automation adoption, and ensure timely, actionable escalations so senior leadership can make the right business decisions.

What You'll Do

Program strategy & governance

• Own Security Governance: maintain and evolve security policies, standards, and control frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001), including mapping to controls and compliance requirements (SOC2, PCI, applicable regulations).
• Lead program maturity planning, roadmaps, and cross-functional governance forums (e.g., security steering committee, risk council).
• Define and enforce security risk appetite and decision criteria for third-party relationships and integrations.

Third-party risk management

• Lead the Security TPRM function across vendor lifecycle: intake/onboarding, due diligence (IRQ/DDQ/SME reviews), contracting handoffs, ongoing monitoring, periodic reviews, and offboarding.
• Ensure robust fourth-party oversight, including subprocessors, and manage remediation/QA cycles driven by Internal Audit and regulators.
• Oversee high-risk vendor decisions and escalations; establish clear RACI for partnership contracts and security acceptance criteria.

Operational excellence & tooling

• Own program KPIs, dashboards, and reporting (Jira STPRM Ops, AuditBoard, Sigma/BI, MetricStream). Drive improvements in throughput, turnaround, backlog age, and remediation velocity.
• Partner with Automation/TPRM Ops to operationalize threat-modeling outputs, integration inventories, pre-integration gates, and CI/CD checks; prioritize automations that reduce manual work and surface strategic escalations.
• Implement and maintain QA processes (quarterly QA), runbooks, SOPs for ticket ownership, and evidence standards.

People & stakeholder leadership

• Build, coach, and scale the Governance and TPRM teams: hiring, performance management, career development, and team morale.
• Act as the primary security contact for Legal, Procurement, Privacy, Product, and Engineering on vendor risk and governance matters.
• Represent Security in executive forums, audit meetings, and regulatory engagements; own remediation commitments and timelines.

Audit, compliance & risk reporting

• Serve as the security liaison for Internal Audit and external assessments; ensure timely remediation of findings and demonstrable progress.
• Produce regular program health reporting for senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders.

Success metrics (examples)

• Vendors reviewed per month and % critical vendors reviewed on schedule
• Average review turnaround time and backlog age distribution
• % tickets with clear owner and SLA met
• Time to remediate Internal Audit findings and completion rate
• Implementation count of automated checks/runbooks and pre-integration gates
• Team engagement / retention and time-to-productivity for new hires

What We Look For

• 7+ years in information security, risk management, or GRC roles, with a minimum of 3 years managing teams (or equivalent leadership experience).
• Demonstrated ownership of a TPRM program or security governance program in a regulated or high-growth technology environment (fintech preferred).
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO), compliance standards (SOC2, PCI), and vendor risk processes (IRQ/DDQ/SME assessments).
• Hands-on familiarity with TPRM/GRC tooling and observability: AuditBoard (or equivalent), Jira, BI tools (Sigma/Tableau/Looker), and experience with integrations/APIs.
• Excellent stakeholder management across legal, procurement, engineering, product, and executive leadership.
• Proven experience translating audit findings into operational remediation plans and measurable outcomes.
• Strong communication skills — able to present risk to technical and non-technical audiences and to influence decisions.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or similar.
• Practical experience with threat-modeling approaches and third-party integration security (API, SSO/OAuth/SAML, TLS).
• Experience scaling automation for GRC/TPRM programs and integrating security checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Prior experience in fintech or highly regulated industries.

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

The Credit team works cross-functionally with Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, Capital Markets, and Commercial teams to responsibly manage the risk profile of the business. We’re looking for a thoughtful, driven individual who wants to learn, grow, and solve hard problems. The team’s mandate is to enable sustainable growth while closely managing the profitability and resilience of our portfolio. As Affirm continues on an exciting growth trajectory; thinking through credit policies for new initiatives and products, shaping ongoing testing and experimentation, and being ready for navigating through any exogenous changes will be important problems to tackle.

This role requires extensive use of data analytics to derive insights across a variety of functions. It also requires a lot of cross-functional partnership including working with the Machine Learning and Quantitative Market teams in developing new models/frameworks, with the Merchant Pricing and Merchant Risk teams to value different merchants, with the Fraud team to detect fraudulent activities, as part of the role.

What you'll do

• Leverage advanced data analytics to derive insights and optimize credit strategies
• Perform portfolio analytics including out of trend investigations and attribution analysis
• Partner with Machine Learning and Engineering on building effective monitoring and credit risk capabilities
• Monitor portfolio as well as macroeconomic trends impacting loan performance
• Drive adjustments to our underwriting and marketing strategies to mitigate risk
• Contribute in enhancing the end-to-end portfolio management monitoring framework

What we look for

• Passion and drive to change banking, payments and online marketing for the better
• 3-5 years work experience as a data analyst (consumer credit risk management strongly preferred but not required)

Zero To One (ZT1) is Affirm’s 0 -> 1 innovation lab, focused on turning bold ideas into validated new businesses. Operating outside the standard Product and Engineering structure, ZT1 is built for speed, autonomy, and decisive execution. We run fast, hypothesis-driven experiments with a clear goal: prototype quickly, generate real signals, and drive explicit “kill or scale” decisions on high-impact opportunities, with AI as a core enabler across the stack.

As an engineer on ZT1, you will work in a small, highly empowered, AI-native team alongside product managers and cross-functional partners, with direct exposure to senior leadership. You will not just build systems, you will help shape experiments, define technical approaches, and influence product direction. Work happens in rapid sprint cycles, where ideas quickly move from concept to AI-powered prototypes and real-world testing.

Engineers on this team are expected to be comfortable leveraging AI-first tools and approaches, including AI-assisted development, agentic workflows, automation, and rapid prototyping. You should have an eye for product and design, and be able to quickly translate ideas into functional, AI-enabled prototypes that can be tested with users or stakeholders.

This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in ambiguity, move quickly, and take ownership end to end in an AI-centric environment. You will balance speed with sound engineering judgment, contributing to both early prototypes and scalable AI-driven solutions when ideas prove viable. What You'll Do

· You will be responsible for owning and delivering quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers on your team through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems, and ensuring that everyone is supported throughout delivery.
· You will support your peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider      risks and trade-offs.
· You will proactively identify project, process, technology or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them.
· You will support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting “keep the lights on” & on-call efforts.
· You will foster a culture of quality and ownership on your team by setting or improving code review and design standards for your team, and advocating for them beyond your team through your writing and tech talks.
· You will help develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.

What We Look For

· You have a total of 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
· You are experienced in designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
· You have experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
· You have experience leveraging AI tools, agentic coding workflows, and automation to accelerate development, prototyping, and problem solving.

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $190,000 - $240,000

The Security team posture increases security and reduces risk while securely enabling access to information for those who need it!

The Staff Product Security Engineer candidate will have experience building and architecting software as part of a larger team. The ideal candidate will work effectively with product and engineering teams to evaluate and influence product requirements, design, and implementation to improve the security of Affirm’s products.

What You'll Do

• Partner with Affirm product teams to ensure that security is included in every phase of the product development lifecycle.
• Conduct threat modeling and architecture reviews to ensure threats are understood, documented, and mitigated.
• Review and analyze product source code to identify security vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for secure implementation.
• Seek out opportunities to automate processes when appropriate.
• Identify emerging classes of vulnerabilities and developing solutions for them before they’re a problem.
• Assist product teams in the development of security focused test cases to enforce security requirements.
• Advise product teams on business security requirements early in the product development lifecycle.
• Decompose large, cross-team projects into individual tasks. Manage scope across teams and drive toward project closure.

What We Look For

• Deep understanding of web application architecture and design principles
• Experience using modern software development and delivery techniques to develop cloud-based services. Python, Kotlin, Java, AWS, and Azure experience preferred.
• Knowledge of common security flaws and resolution as published by OWASP, SANS, etc.
• Experience with PCI or other regulated environments.
• Experience conducting threat models for complex, distributed products using standard threat modeling techniques and methodologies.
• Experience with standard authentication mechanisms, including SAML and OAuth2.
• Understanding of continuous integration / continuous deployment processes and tools.
• BS degree in related field or equivalent experience. MS degree in a related field or equivalent experience is a plus.

The Trust Infra team elevates the security posture of our infrastructure and services by embedding security in everything from provisioning to deployment, improving developer experience through automation, and building guardrails that enable safe, rapid delivery. Artifacts owned by this team include our secrets management system, authentication and authorization, cryptography, certificate workloads, and other core security components within our Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.

The Merchant & Partner Lifecycle (M&PL) team is at the forefront of Affirm’s architectural transformation. We are addressing critical architectural risks by consolidating merchant lifecycle orchestration into a newly cohesive domain.

You will act as a technical leader responsible for building out the brand new lifecycle-orchestrator service that’s at the heart of multiple connected systems. Your work will deliver immediate availability improvements through system simplification and isolation, and modernize older parts of the codebase.

What You'll Do

• Design & expand the backbone of our platform to scale to hundreds of thousands of merchants from all around the world
• Design and align the scope of work with other teams to deliver cross-team projects
• Mentor other engineers to ensure their development & growth
• Partner with Engineering Manager and Team Lead to drive and execute the long-term vision of the team
• Execute technical strategy for broad or complex requirements with insightful and forward-looking approaches that go beyond the direct team and solve large open-ended problems
• Utilize agentic development tools like Claude Code to automate parts of the development process
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes throughout the organization

What We Look For

• 5+ years of experience as a backend software engineer
• A strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design, distributed systems, and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability
• Proficiency with data models, API design (http and RPC), state machines, event-driven architecture, and database design
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be proficient in asynchronous communication–written tech specs, ADRs, project plans, etc.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems (our stack: AWS, gRPC, Snowflake, Kotlin, Python, MySQL, Kubernetes). Java and Kotlin experience are especially helpful.
• Prior experience with monitoring and alerting systems (sentry.io, rollbar, chronosphere, kibana)

What You'll Do

• You will be responsible for owning and delivering quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems, and ensuring that everyone is supported throughout delivery.
• You will support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics, participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs.
• You will proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them.
• You will support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting “keep the lights on” and on-call efforts.

What We Look For

• You have experience leading significant mobile initiatives (React Native or native), including defining architecture, coordinating cross-functional launches, and maintaining high reliability in production environments.
• You have experience working across the React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin), debugging platform-specific issues and improving developer tooling, CI/CD, and release processes for mobile apps.
• You have experience implementing experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation in mobile applications, ensuring safe rollouts and measurable impact.
• You have experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• You are proficient in working with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• You have a total of 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.

This role requires extensive use of data analytics to derive insights and develop credit strategies. It also requires a lot of cross-functional partnership. Working with the Machine Learning and Engineering team to develop new underwriting models, with the Product teams to develop new products and features, with the Merchant Pricing team to value different merchants, with the Finance team to help facilitate discussions with debt and equity investors are some parts of the role.

What you'll do

• Leverage experimentation and advanced data analytics to derive insights. Dissect complex data and translate it into actionable strategies to help optimize credit underwriting
• Determine and optimize purchasing power, ensuring they are set optimally to balance risk and growth, driving healthy user engagement
• Play a pivotal role in underwriting cost saving, managing risk and improving the profitability
• Support the launch of new products by designing and implementing credit strategies
• Partner with Machine Learning and Engineering teams on building effective credit risk capabilities

What we look for

• 2+ years of work experience as a data analyst/data scientist (consumer credit risk management strongly preferred but not required)
• Curious and passionate to learn new things and think outside the box
• Extensive experience with SQL and Python, or other scripting languages. Experience with Spark is a plus
• Experience/knowledge with Machine Learning is a plus
• Ability to collaborate and influence across different teams in the organization

What You’ll Do

• Own and optimize Salesforce as the primary CRM, ensuring it meets business needs across Servicing, Operations, Compliance, and Customer Success.
• Hold a high technical bar for your work and your team’s tactical changes; partner with the Systems Manager to influence technical strategy.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and Analytics to ensure technical sustainability, risk management, and informed trade-offs.
• Architect end-to-end Salesforce solutions across Service Cloud and other business systems.
• Lead evaluation of new Salesforce features and third-party technologies to enhance functionality and user experience.
• Act as a force-multiplier for your team by defining and advocating technical solutions and operational processes.
• Maintain and support integrations between Salesforce and core systems (Snowflake, Amazon Connect, internal tools) to enable seamless case creation flows and automation.
• Consistently generate simple, elegant designs and write high-quality, reusable code.
• Develop and enforce best practices for system governance, security, and data integrity, ensuring compliance with fintech regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOC 2).
• Partner with Ops Excellence, Servicing, Product, Security, and Engineering to translate business needs into scalable system solutions.
• Drive excellence and automation in DevOps using Salesforce DevOps Center and/or GitHub Actions.
• Leverage Lightning Flows, Agentforce, and other low-code tools to improve workflows and eliminate manual processes.
• Manage system enhancements and customizations, including configurations, flows, Lightning components, and API integrations.
• Develop metrics for system observability, availability, and performance.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvements.
• Provide training and documentation to ensure strong adoption and effective use of business systems.

What We Look For

• 7+ years of experience in Business Systems Engineering, Software, or Enterprise Applications, preferably in a fintech, SaaS, or high-growth tech environment.
• Deep expertise in Salesforce (certifications preferred: Salesforce Admin, Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder, Developer I, Certified Architect).
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Analytics, and Business teams.
• Proven ability to implement and improve Salesforce platform observability and availability best practices.
• Comfort with ambiguity, and ability to move from low-level language idioms to large-scale system architecture.
• Demonstrated growth and impact through incorporating feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers.
• Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud functionality such as Case Management, Knowledge Base, Omni-Channel, and Service Console configurations.
• Hands-on expertise in implementing and optimizing Service Cloud features including Skill-Based Routing, Entitlements, Messaging for In-App and Web (MIAW), and Einstein Gen AI for Service.
• Familiarity with Lightning Web Components, Apex, BuildKite, GitHub, and other CI/CD tools within Salesforce.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, reporting, and analytics, with experience leveraging Snowflake for business intelligence.
• Experience working in Scrum or other Agile methodologies.
• Technical proficiency in Salesforce administration, declarative development (Flows, Process Builder, validation rules, SQL), and basic Apex development.

That’s where Capital Product comes in.

The Capital Product team builds the platform, tooling, and workflows that power Affirm’s $26+ billion Capital Program—enabling Capital Markets, Treasury, and Risk to operate with speed and confidence while safeguarding investor trust through accurate, auditable, and scalable systems.

We’re looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead our Capital Risk and Deal Reporting product area. This role owns some of the most investor-visible and profit-impacting systems at Affirm. You will reduce operational risk, enable more sophisticated and accurate forecasting, and ensure investor-grade reporting by building durable systems that scale with Affirm’s growth—ultimately helping Affirm deploy capital more efficiently and passing those gains through to our customers.

This is a highly analytical, high-impact role for a product builder who is comfortable being deeply embedded in data and financial logic—and who brings a strong bias toward precision, correctness, and delivery.

What you'll do

• Own the Capital Risk & Reporting Vision: Define the long-term direction for Capital Risk and Deal Reporting systems, ensuring they scale with increasing volume, complexity, and scrutiny while supporting both operational reliability and forward-looking decision-making.
• Turn Scale Into Better Capital Decisions: Enable analytical and forecasting capabilities that help Capital teams evaluate tradeoffs, plan ahead, and make higher-quality funding and P&L decisions as the platform grows
• Build the Foundational System for Investor-Grade Accuracy: Lead the development of systems that deliver consistent, timely, and trusted reporting to our Capital investors, with a strong emphasis on reconciliation, traceability, and accuracy.
• Eliminate Fragility in Critical Workflows: Identify and remove sources of operational fragility by replacing manual processes, one-off logic, and ad-hoc checks with durable, automated, and well-instrumented product capabilities in our most critical workflows.
• Lead Cross-Functional Execution: Act as the product anchor across Engineering, Capital Markets, Treasury, Risk, Legal and Accounting—aligning stakeholders, translating complex requirements into clear plans, and driving execution through ambiguity.
• Go Deep Where It Matters: Dive into financial logic, data models, pipeline dependencies, and edge cases to ensure systems behave correctly
• Be Accountable for Outcomes: Own success metrics tied to operational stability, reporting confidence, forecasting quality, and stakeholder trust—ensuring the products you ship measurably improve how Capital operates at scale.

What we look for

• Proven Product Execution at Scale: 7+ years of product management experience with prior experience in finance, accounting, capital markets, debt capital markets a big plus
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to lead and align diverse stakeholders across Engineering, Capital Markets, Treasury, Risk, and Accounting—driving clarity, tradeoff decisions, and progress across complex, interdependent initiatives.
• Ownership Mentality in Ambiguous Environments: Demonstrated ability to take loosely defined problems, set direction independently, make tradeoffs, and drive work to completion with a strong bias toward delivery.
• Deep Analytical and Data Proficiency: Comfortable working directly with data to validate assumptions, reconcile metrics, and investigate issues; strong proficiency in SQL and experience using data to drive decisions.
• Exceptional Attention to Detail: High bar for correctness and quality with a demonstrated ability to work with large data sets, investigate discrepancy across systems, and drive reconciliation efforts.
• Technical Fluency: Able to engage deeply with engineers on system design, data models, pipelines, and tradeoffs, and to independently reason about technical constraints and implications.

Pay Grade - P
Equity Grade - 13

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $225,000 - $275,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $200,000 - $250,000

Senior Product Manager, Financial Reporting

We’re looking for a strong product leader to drive this vision forward!

We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to own the product roadmap for subledger and reporting infrastructure, the Accounting ↔ Engineering interface, and reconciliation and controls that enable month-end close and auditability. This role owns the end-to-end journey of financial data from engineering systems to the general ledger/ERP and partners closely with Accounting, data, and platform teams.

*What you’ll do*

• Own the financial reporting product roadmap: subledgers, standardized accounting-event interface, journal-entry flows, GL/ERP integrations, and reconciliation tooling.
• Work with Engineering to define subledger patterns and the Accounting ↔ Engineering interface: accounting-event schemas, API contracts, domain boundaries, and migration strategies for operational systems to adopt the standard.
• Translate accounting policy and audit requirements into product specs, posting logic, SOX controls, and implementable engineering requirements.
• Lead matching/reconciliation strategy and automation: run vendor evaluations, define recon rules and ownership, and deliver reconciliation automation for high-volume, critical accounts.
• Own data lineage, quality metrics, SLAs, monitoring, and remediation flows for critical reports and journal feeds.
• Run product discovery, prioritization, and cross-functional programs: scope pilots, set success metrics, manage tradeoffs, and deliver production systems with Engineering, Accounting, and Finance.
• Drive governance and change management: coordinate Accounting, Finance, Product and Engineering; own go-to-production signoffs, runbooks, and stakeholder training.

*What we’re looking for*

• 4+ years product management experience owning financial platforms or data products — responsible for roadmap, APIs, data models, and cross-functional delivery.
• Practical accounting experience required: hands-on accounting experience with direct ownership of month-end close, reconciliations, and external audits. CPA preferred. Practical domain expertise is more important than the credential alone.
• Proven track record of building and working knowledge of financial systems, subledger → GL flows, journal-entry design, reconciliations, SOX controls, and external audit processes.
• Strong technical fluency — data models, ETL/DBT, SQL, and API design — and the ability to partner tightly with engineering and data teams on lineage and transformations.
• Exceptional communicator and cross-functional influencer: translates accounting requirements into technical specs, drives consensus across Finance & Engineering, and presents tradeoffs to senior leaders.
• Willingness to work East Coast hours
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or other related fields; or equivalent practical experience.

As the leader of Consumer Risk product, you will help scale and evolve this system, balancing customer trust, merchant performance, and long-term business outcomes. This is a highly cross-functional, analytically rigorous, and commercially impactful role. You will lead and scale a team of Product Managers, partner deeply with Engineering, Machine Learning, Analytics, Risk, Finance, Legal, Design, and GTM teams, and influence senior leaders across the company.

What You’ll Do

• Own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and execution for Consumer Risk within Checkout, encompassing Credit decisioning, Pricing, and Fraud prevention
• Translate Affirm’s mission into a clear product roadmap that balances growth, risk, customer trust, and platform scalability
• Lead and scale a team of Product Managers owning distinct Consumer Risk surface areas, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and high performance
• Partner closely with Machine Learning, Analytics and Engineering to shape model-driven product experiences, including underwriting logic, pricing frameworks, fraud signals, and decisioning platforms
• Drive quantitative storytelling—using data, experiments, and modeling to inform strategy, influence stakeholders, and guide tradeoffs
• Champion a customer-first mindset, ensuring risk experiences are transparent, fair, and intuitive for consumers while delivering strong outcomes for merchants
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Design, Marketing, and GTM teams to deliver cohesive, scalable solutions
• Set and own key performance metrics (e.g., approval rate, conversion, loss rate, unit economics, LTV, fraud outcomes, customer trust metrics) and hold teams accountable to results
• Navigate complex organizational dynamics and influence senior stakeholders, including the executive team, with clear articulation of strategy, tradeoffs, and impact
• Balance near-term execution with long-term platform investments, ensuring Consumer Risk capabilities scale with Affirm’s growth and partner ecosystem

What We Look For

• 12+ years of Product Management experience, including leadership roles on fast-paced teams driving responsible, sustainable growth
• Deep experience working with Credit, Pricing, and/or Fraud stakeholders, with a strong understanding of:
• Credit: underwriting tradeoffs, unit economics, loss management, regulatory considerations
• Pricing: risk-based pricing, margin optimization, experimentation, and fairness considerations
• Fraud: adversarial systems, real-time decisioning, false positive/negative tradeoffs, and customer trust
• Strong quantitative and analytical orientation—comfortable engaging in model-level discussions, using data to drive decisions, and translating complexity into clear narratives
• Experience building and scaling platform and decisioning products, not just surface-level UX
• Proven track record of managing and mentoring large, geographically distributed PM teams
• Commercially minded with a high-agency, bias-to-action mindset and comfort making hard tradeoffs in ambiguous environments
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels
• Experience working in design-forward organizations that prioritize clarity, transparency, and high-quality user experiences
• A systems thinker who can balance short-term business impact with long-term scalability and technical health
• Fintech, payments, or risk-heavy consumer product experience is a strong plus

Affirm is actively seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented, and deeply experienced Senior Director of Operations to lead the global Operations team. Reporting directly to the Head of Technical Programs & Operations, this pivotal leadership role includes responsibility for developing and executing our global operations strategy as well as comprehensive oversight of all critical operational pillars. The scope includes all aspects of customer and merchant servicing, fraud operations, vendor management, strategic workforce management, robust training programs, rigorous quality assurance, continuous process improvement, knowledge management systems, and operations risk governance across all operational activities. The function is composed of 10 focus areas with nearly 200 Affirmers and a vendor network with more than 4,000 agents.

The Senior Director of Operations is accountable for adherence to established service level agreements (SLAs) and continuously optimizing operational outcomes to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Concurrently, this role demands a keen eye for maximizing growth opportunities and diligently managing operational costs to ensure efficiency and profitability.

On a day-to-day basis, this leader must ensure accurate monitoring of Affirm’s operations and drive rapid remediation when performance deviates from expectations set by the team. This leader is responsible for developing the strategic roadmap for the team’s scope of responsibility, setting expectations for the servicing of our products, and working with cross functional partners to incorporate those expectations into our overall business strategy and deliver company wide results. To optimize impact, they must utilize their proven experience in successfully leading and scaling teams within a dynamic, fast-paced, and cross-functional operational environment.

The Tech Ops team at Affirm sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and scale. We partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Infrastructure leaders to translate complex technical initiatives into clear, executable programs that drive reliability, velocity, and long-term platform health. Our focus is on enabling teams to deliver high-impact outcomes by bringing structure to ambiguity, aligning cross-functional priorities, and ensuring our technology scales safely and efficiently as the business grows.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Technical Programs to oversee a team of Technical Program Managers and drive the successful execution of strategic programs in partnership with leaders in our Technology organization. As our products scale to meet our accelerating business and expanding product lines, you will bring expertise in technical program management to help us deliver on great Affirm products. You will also actively develop and grow our key TPM talent as well as evolve the team to set it up for success as it faces new challenges.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and inspire a distributed team of Technical Program Managers (TPM) working across several parts of the business, with a goal of driving alignment amongst key stakeholders.
• Work closely with our leads and partners in Product, Engineering, Design, Infrastructure, Operations and Analytics to map out strategies and roadmaps, and ensure alignment with company wide goals.
• Develop the OKRs, priorities and operational models and work alongside our team to reach them. Ensure high-quality program management and ongoing technical skill development for the team.
• Establish and execute robust prioritization of programs across the Product and Engineering plans.
• Drive employee engagement and a high-performance culture within the team, ensuring effective performance management, coaching, career development of the team and creating an environment where people can excel through accountability, encouragement, and empowerment.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company.
• Understand technical implementation at the architecture level and propose technical alternatives, ask questions that clarify priorities and push the team to be effective, and develop domain and technical knowledge.
• Proactively identify and drive resolution of dependencies, evaluate risks, and communicate status to upper management and program stakeholders.

What We Look For:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 3-5 years of experience managing technical program management teams
• 7+ years of experience program managing technical implementations

Client Platform Engineering builds and maintains the hardware and software at the heart of Affirm’s employee-facing operations. We’re a creative, cross-functional team that cares deeply about our craft and the working lives of Affirmers around the globe. We own Affirm’s endpoint platform and deliver scalable, secure solutions - including zero-touch provisioning, package and patch management, and silent updates - while partnering cross-functionally with teams like Security, Engineering, Product and Support. As a member of this team you’ll have direct influence over how Affirmers experience their workplace technology and the opportunity to lead high-impact projects that improve reliability, security, and productivity across an engaged global workforce.

What You'll Do

• Administer and scale macOS device management using Jamf Pro, ensuring endpoints meet company compliance standards (e.g., encryption, OS patching, configuration profiles, application management).
• Guide architectural decisions to ensure endpoint management can easily scale with the company
• Drive key technical initiatives such as permission automation, third-party patching, silent updates, stability improvements, and streamlined device deployment.
• Build automation and infrastructure-as-code pipelines using tools like Terraform (or similar), Bash/Python scripting, and Jamf/Okta/MDM APIs to minimize manual work and create “zero-touch” provisioning workflows.
• Manage enterprise-grade software and package deployment, using tools like AutoPkgr or equivalent for packaging and silent rollout of updates at scale.
• Implement and refine endpoint change control processes, with communication, testing, rollback plans, and compliance tracking. Create dashboards and reporting for visibility into compliance, patch levels, and device health.
• Collaborate closely with Security, Support, Engineering, and IT to enforce policies (e.g. least-privilege), onboard security agents (AV, EDR, disk encryption), and integrate devices with Okta SSO, Oomnitza, Google Workspace, and other monitoring tools.
• Serve as the escalation tier for complex endpoint issues—troubleshoot deep macOS, hardware, networking, or software issues and act as a knowledge source for IT Support.
• Mentor junior engineers—share expertise, set best practices, and help elevate the team’s Jamf, scripting, and automation capabilities.
• Explore and evaluate new endpoint-management and automation technologies, run POCs, and recommend adoption to improve platform efficiency, security, and user experience.
• Work directly with Developer Productivity to support the unique needs of Affirm’s engineers.

What We Look For

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing macOS (and ideally other endpoints) at scale with enterprise MDM tools - Jamf Pro expertise required (Jamf 300+ level).
• Strong scripting capabilities in Bash, with fluency in a second language like Python; ability to programmatically integrate with RESTful APIs (Jamf API, Okta API, etc.).
• Proven proficiency in automation / infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar in an IT context.
• Experience with Windows Intune and Windows Endpoint Management
• Deep understanding of enterprise security practices for endpoints, including vulnerability/patch management, enforcing least privilege, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience building and managing package/software distribution pipelines, with tools like AutoPkg, Jamf, or others.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills and ability to debug complex endpoint issues; capable of representing the IT team in high-severity escalations.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills with a collaborative mindset—able to work with Security, Support, and Engineering teams effectively.
• A positive, growth-oriented attitude, with strong written communication: documentation, runbooks, dashboards, and process guides.
• Prior experience serving as a technical mentor or functional lead in a high-growth or enterprise environment is strongly preferred
• This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Equity Grade - 7

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $180,000 - $230,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $160,000 - $210,000

Director, Affirm Bank Information Security

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will serve as a key member of the Bank’s Executive Management Team and will be responsible for establishing and leading Bank’s information security and cybersecurity programs. As the Bank prepares to launch as a de novo Industrial Loan Company (ILC), the CISO will design and implement an enterprise-wide security framework that meets FDIC and state regulatory expectations, supports the Bank’s risk appetite, and protects customer and institutional data.

The CISO will lead the development of information security governance, technical controls, and third-party risk oversight, ensuring a strong and scalable security posture from inception through growth. This leader will collaborate closely with technology, risk, and operations teams to ensure security is integrated into every aspect of the Bank’s systems and operations.

*What You’ll Do*

1. Information Security Program Development

2. Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Information Security Program consistent with FDIC guidance (e.g., FIL-66-2019, FIL-13-2021) and the Interagency Guidelines Establishing Information Security Standards.

3. Develop and oversee policies, standards, and procedures governing cybersecurity, data protection, and incident response.
4. Ensure alignment with the Bank’s overall risk management and governance frameworks.

5. Provide regular reporting to executive management and the Board on the Bank’s security posture, emerging risks, and mitigation efforts.

6. Cybersecurity and Threat Management

7. Establish and manage a threat monitoring and detection capability to identify, assess, and respond to cybersecurity risks.

8. Oversee implementation of layered security controls (e.g., network segmentation, encryption, access controls, endpoint protection, vulnerability management).
9. Lead the Bank’s Incident Response Program, ensuring timely escalation and coordination with regulators when required.

10. Maintain relationships with information-sharing groups (e.g., FS-ISAC) and law enforcement to stay informed of emerging threats.

11. Third-Party and Affiliate Risk Oversight

12. Evaluate the information security posture of third-party and affiliate service providers in accordance with the Bank’s Vendor Management Program and FDIC third-party risk guidance.

13. Establish due diligence, ongoing monitoring, and contractual requirements for vendors handling sensitive data or performing critical services.

14. Coordinate with Operations, Compliance, and Internal Audit to ensure third-party risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated.

15. Data Governance and Privacy Protection

16. Ensure compliance with applicable privacy and data protection requirements (e.g., GLBA, Regulation P, state privacy laws).

17. Implement processes to safeguard customer information and prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

18. Partner with business and technology teams to integrate privacy-by-design principles into new products and services.

19. Business Continuity and Resilience

20. Lead development and testing of the Bank’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) plans, ensuring they are integrated with information security objectives.

21. Coordinate regular testing and simulations to validate readiness for cyber incidents and system disruptions.

22. Support resilience planning for key systems, vendors, and communication protocols.

23. De Novo and Pre-Opening Readiness

24. Build and document the Bank’s information security program as part of the de novo application process.

25. Establish security architecture, monitoring tools, and vendor relationships prior to launch.
26. Prepare readiness materials for FDIC and state examinations related to cybersecurity and operational resilience.

27. Ensure security risk assessments and third-party reviews are completed and incorporated into pre-opening milestones.

28. Leadership and Culture

29. Serve as the Bank’s senior advocate for cybersecurity and data protection, promoting a culture of security awareness and accountability.

30. Provide training and guidance across the organization to enhance information security awareness.
31. Collaborate with peers in Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology to align security priorities with business strategy.
32. Build and lead a capable, mission-driven security team to support the Bank’s evolving needs.

*What We Look For*

• Minimum of 10 years of information security and technology risk management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity at a regulated financial institution or Fintech.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing information security programs compliant with FDIC and FFIEC standards.
• Strong familiarity with third-party risk frameworks and financial services cybersecurity expectations.

The Streaming team at Affirm forms the backbone of several online and offline workloads at Affirm and drives the strategy for event driven architecture, stream processing, replication, data exploration, discovery and validation. We leverage existing open source technologies like Kafka, Flink, Spark and also build our own as needed to design and build real-time data processing pipelines that handle massive volumes of data across our distributed systems.

As a member of our team you would spend time identifying and executing on new use cases of streaming data infrastructure and frameworks , designing and scaling our existing infrastructure and working closely with other teams to promote the optimal use of data at the company. This role requires deep expertise in stream processing technologies and a passion for building scalable, fault-tolerant data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build data infrastructure systems, services and tools to handle new Affirm products and business requirements that securely scale over millions of users and their transactions.
• Build and optimize high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines for critical business applications
• Build frameworks and services which will be used by other engineering teams at Affirm to manage billions of dollars in loans and power customer experiences.
• Help support the Streaming team that forms the backbone for several online and offline workloads at affirm.
• Improve the reliability and efficiency of the Data Platform at scale and high availability.
• Collaborate with other teams at Affirm, including ML and Analytics, to deliver streaming solutions based on various use-cases and best practices
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain production streaming systems, ensuring high availability and reliability of data systems

What We Look For:

• 8+ years of industry experience in building large scale production systems.
• Strong hands on experience with Apache Kafka or similar streaming solutions for large-scale event streaming and message queueing
• Experience building and operating robust and highly available infrastructure.
• Experience working with data platforms like Snowflake, Glue or Databricks is a plus
• Experience with Confluent Platform (Schema Registry, Tableflow) is a strong plus.
• Expertise with at least one stream processing frameworks like Spark, Samza, Flink, Beam etc.

• Solid programming skills in Python, Java or Kotlin.

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $225,000 - $275,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $200,000 - $250,000

Software Engineer II, Backend (Identity Decisioning)

Identity Engineering owns the systems responsible for onboarding all consumers and managing their authentication and verification journeys across Affirm’s product surfaces. In this role, you will need to gain a deep understanding of the business, product and engineering context, and utilize that context to own and deliver high-availability and low-latency systems on the critical paths for all of our products.

What you'll do

· With the support of your team’s tech lead and manager, you will break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery of your work.
· You will support your peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics by participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs.
· You will support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting “keep the lights on” & on-call efforts.
· You will contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process.

What we look for

· You have a total of 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
· You have experience designing, developing and launching backend systems and are proficient in one of Python or Kotlin.
· You are familiar with the building blocks of distributed systems, and the technologies like AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
· You have mastered taking a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, and executing on it by writing clear, easily understood, well tested and extensible code.
· You are comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing feedback to other engineers through code reviews.
· Your experience demonstrates that you take ownership of your growth, proactively seeking feedback from your team, your manager, and your stakeholders.
· You have strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration with our global engineering team.
· This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
