As a Senior Software Engineer - AI Experiences, Microsoft Edge, you will join the Edge Fundamentals Team to enhance the quality, performance, and reliability of the browser. You will design and maintain software that improves engineering effectiveness through diagnostics, telemetry, automation, and experimentation systems. Your daily work involves building tools to help engineers identify issues earlier, making data-driven decisions while developing AI-powered solutions to accelerate investigations and reduce manual effort. You will tackle complex problems in browser performance and developer experience by analyzing traces and signals to improve both internal workflows and customer-facing features. The role requires proficiency in C#, Python, C++, or Powershell. You will leverage your expertise in browser technologies, distributed systems, and AI-assisted engineering tools to solve technical challenges within the Edge and Chromium codebase while mentoring others and participating in technical design discussions.

What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 4+ years of engineering experience with C#, Python, C++, or Powershell (or equivalent).
Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background checks.
Master's Degree in Computer Science and 6+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of experience (preferred).
Experience designing and shipping high-quality software at scale (preferred).
Experience with browser technologies, performance engineering, diagnostics, developer productivity, distributed systems, operating systems, or large-scale infrastructure (preferred).
Experience using telemetry, experimentation, profiling, tracing, or performance analysis to drive decisions (preferred).
Experience building tools, automation, measurement systems, CI/CD infrastructure, or engineering productivity solutions (preferred).
Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and building AI-powered workflows or developer experiences (preferred).
