What you'll do

Manage the full lifecycle of services from initial design and capacity planning through deployment and ongoing operation.
Monitor system health metrics including availability and latency to ensure high performance for live services.
Automate routine tasks and scale systems using automation tools to improve reliability and development velocity.
Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines to promote software into higher environments with minimal manual effort.
Lead incident response efforts and conduct blameless post-mortems to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
Provide feedback to development teams regarding operational gaps, resiliency concerns, and infrastructure improvements.
Troubleshoot complex production issues across a multi-layered technology stack to minimize mean time to recover.
Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge with the broader engineering organization.

What we're looking for

A BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding is required, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design is required.
Proficiency in Unix, Shell Scripting, SQL, Apache Nifi, Splunk, Dynatrace, Jenkins, GIT, and XLR is required.
Ability to debug and optimize code while automating routine tasks is required.
Experience working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships is required.
Strong communication skills and a systematic problem-solving approach are required.
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.
Experience with industry standard CI/CD tools like Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef is desired.
