As the Senior Section Manager, Automation, you will lead the automation department by setting and controlling financial goals, managing project budgets, and overseeing capital plans for site facilities. You will manage a team of Project Engineering personnel, including exempt and nonexempt staff, while coordinating with cross-functional partners to define action plans and resource allocations. Set and manage all department goals, project budgets, and financial objectives for the automation area.
Lead the automation department to meet site business strategies while managing cost center expenses.
Mitigate risks through sound design, early risk assessments, and implementation of fallback strategies.
Implement automation controls and business strategies to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.
Manage and develop staff through hiring, performance management, training, and defining clear expectations.
Lead the strategic planning and execution of the annual site capital plan and long-range plans.
Oversee project lifecycles including engineering cost estimates, construction, and commissioning requirements.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, environmental health and safety (EHS) requirements, and technical documentation standards.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science is desired, or equivalent technical experience plus 10+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience (preferred).
Business acumen coupled with leadership experience to drive high performance is required.
DeltaV proficiency is required.
Pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
Change Management expertise is required.
Experience with large scale manufacturing expansions and builds is required.
Strong Engineering lead role experience in the Biopharma industry is required.
Proficiency in financial systems, fiscal control, and software including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SAP is required.
