TL;DR · Senior Scientist Omics

Senior Scientist Omics - IMM joins the Population Analytics & Insights group within the Data, Data Sciences and AI organization to support drug target identification and evaluation for the Immunology therapeutic area. The role involves constructing analytic frameworks by integrating perturbation, ontology, and cellular phenotyping with molecular datasets including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics to enhance target evaluation and patient stratification. You will utilize machine learning, network-based models, and advanced statistical methods to link molecular targets to disease states and predict on-target or off-target toxicity. Key responsibilities include analyzing multi-omic data at both bulk and single-cell levels, implementing NLP for annotating biomarkers, and translating computational findings into pharmacological validation. Required expertise includes proficiency in programming, experience with RNA gene expression, proteomics, and epigenomics, alongside the ability to navigate complex biological data to advance drug discovery pipelines.

What you'll do

  • Construct analytic frameworks by integrating perturbation, ontology, and cellular phenotyping with molecular datasets like genomics and proteomics.
  • Apply machine learning and inference methods to link molecular targets to disease states and validate predicted mechanisms.
  • Model multimodal data to predict qualities and liabilities associated with on-target and off-target treatment effects.
  • Develop statistical models and AI/ML methods to analyze multiomic and biobank data for target identification and biomarker discovery.
  • Provide technical consultation to Immunology stakeholders regarding the analysis of phenomic and molecular data.
  • Translate computational findings into actionable insights for functional, biological, and pharmacological validation.
  • Implement NLP and related approaches to annotate targets, biomarkers, and networks to support classifier construction.

What we're looking for

  • A Ph.D. in a quantitative Biology field such as Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, or Statistical Genetics is required.
  • 2-3 years of experience post-PhD degree is required.
  • Experience with multi-omic data at both bulk and single cell levels is required.
  • Proficiency in programming and computational skills is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a group of scientists to deliver on objectives in defined timelines is required.
  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and leadership skills with a track record of publication and cross-functional collaboration are required.
  • Experience with Immunology is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of gene/pathway ontology, network analysis, perturbation data, and advanced analytical approaches (NLP, ML/AI, LLM) is preferred.
