As a Senior Quantum Systems Engineer - Quantum Computing, you will join a rapidly growing team focused on the development of fault-tolerant quantum computing systems. You will collaborate with internal research and engineering teams as well as external partners to define system requirements across hardware, software, and firmware. Your daily responsibilities include developing novel approaches for real-time quantum error correction and calibration through rigorous systems analysis for various qubit modalities, while also creating and reviewing test cases for technical correctness. The role requires expertise in quantum control systems, real-time systems, embedded software, and networking. Preferred skills include experience with CUDA, NVIDIA GPUs, AI and ML techniques, and benchmarking methods. You will solve complex engineering problems to bridge the gap between theoretical quantum research and practical hardware and software product integration.
Define system requirements with internal and external partners to enable fault-tolerant quantum computing.
Develop novel approaches to real-time quantum error correction and calibration for various qubit modalities.
Perform rigorous systems analysis to support quantum hardware and software development.
Distill high-level product requirements into specific technical requirements across hardware, software, and firmware.
Develop test cases to support technical requirements and verify their correctness.
Review test implementations for completeness and accuracy.
Drive technology innovations into NVIDIA products to support the quantum computing ecosystem.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related engineering field (or equivalent experience).
Post-bachelor’s experience in engineering across multiple parts of complex hardware and software systems.
Deep hands-on experience working with real qubits and quantum control systems software.
Experience with design of quantum control systems and techniques, including communication and networking (preferred).
Experience with development of real-time systems and embedded software (preferred).
Knowledge of methods of benchmarking quantum computers (preferred).
