The Senior / Principal Software Engineers (AI), Commerce Platforms join the Commerce Platforms team to build and modernize the data foundations for offers, pricing, and transactions. In these roles, you will design and evolve scalable distributed services, APIs, and high-scale data pipelines to support critical commerce experiences. You will work across engineering, product, and data science teams to solve complex technical problems, including offer lifecycle management, real-time decision making, and anomaly detection. You will utilize languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and Python, alongside technologies like Spark, Kafka, Databricks, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn. The work involves applying machine learning, AI, and LLM-based capabilities to improve commerce outcomes, ensuring platform consistency, security, and operational reliability across shared commerce services.

What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including a Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Experience designing and building scalable distributed or cloud-based systems, including backend services, APIs, and service-oriented architectures (preferred).
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud and building high-scale data pipelines or shared data models (preferred).
Understanding of software architecture, system design, scalability, performance, reliability, security, and operational excellence (preferred).
Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, observability, production monitoring, incident response, and operating services at scale (preferred).
Experience applying machine learning or AI to production scenarios such as anomaly detection, forecasting, or LLM-based automation (preferred).
Experience with large-scale data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Databricks, or similar platforms (preferred).
