The Senior Principal CIAM Architect serves as a technical leader within the Customer Identity and Access Management team, focusing on identity services for customer-facing digital products and platforms. In this role, you will define architecture strategy, lead solution design and engineering activities, and establish technical standards for scalable, secure, and compliant identity solutions. You will be responsible for evaluating emerging technologies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring platform security, availability, and operational readiness. Key competencies include designing enterprise-scale identity systems and navigating technical requirements to ensure seamless functionality. Lead the architecture, design, and technical strategy for Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) platforms.
Define and maintain technology architecture standards, reference models, and design principles for CIAM solutions.
Translate business and technology requirements into scalable, secure, and operationally sustainable identity solutions.
Provide technical leadership for the evaluation, selection, implementation, and enhancement of identity technologies.
Ensure platform security, availability, performance, monitoring, logging, and operational readiness across CIAM environments.
Create and maintain technical, operational, audit, security, and support documentation according to enterprise standards.
Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and future-state planning.
Collaborate with vendors to resolve complex issues and support proof-of-concept initiatives.
What we're looking for
A Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 8+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, software engineering, or related fields is required.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience as a Technical Architect for a CIAM or IAM enterprise platform.
At least 5 years of experience designing, implementing, or supporting identity and access management solutions at an enterprise scale is required.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in information security engineering, cybersecurity engineering, or software development.
An active CISSP certification or a comparable industry-recognized security certification is preferred.
At least 2 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar platform ownership role is preferred.
An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
