As a Senior Platform Software Engineer on the OCI BUILD team, you will design, implement, and operate critical internal build infrastructure and services. You will develop distributed systems, orchestration workflows, and CI/CD integration points to manage software artifacts, dependencies, and security controls within the production environment. The role involves building tools for automated deployment, improving observability, and ensuring high availability across multi-tenant cloud regions. You will utilize programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, Go, or Python while applying expertise in data structures, algorithms, networking, and distributed failure handling. This position addresses complex challenges in the software supply chain, specifically focusing on build scalability, artifact provenance, and security compliance for government and regulated environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance developer experience and automate triage through advanced infrastructure improvements.
Design, implement, and operate major features for OCI build services and supporting infrastructure.
Build and improve distributed services, APIs, orchestration workflows, and CI/CD integration points.
Manage systems for build inputs, artifacts, third-party dependencies, credentials, and publishing workflows.
Automate processes for build execution, artifact generation, dependency ingestion, and release readiness.
Resolve production issues through root-cause analysis, remediation, and long-term reliability improvements.
Develop observability tools, dashboards, and runbooks to enable self-service debugging for internal customers.
Apply security and compliance principles to service design including authentication, authorization, and auditability.
Contribute to engineering quality through documentation, automated testing, and repeatable launch processes.
What we're looking for
4+ years of software development experience building and operating distributed services.
Strong development experience in Java, C++, C#, Go, Python, or similar programming languages.
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Experience designing and launching production features including design documentation, implementation, testing, rollout, and operational follow-through.
Experience operating production services including monitoring, alarms, incident response, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
Good understanding of databases, persistence layers, service state management, and distributed failure handling.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for design documents, operational updates, and technical tradeoff analysis.
Experience with cloud platforms, build systems, CI/CD, Kubernetes, or supply-chain security concepts (preferred).
