As a Senior Platform Software Engineer, you will join the team responsible for Merino, the internal CI/CD change workflow platform used to manage software builds, validations, and deployments across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. You will design, build, and operate scalable distributed systems and cloud-native services to improve release automation, deployment safety, and developer productivity. Your daily work involves managing the full software lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, testing, monitoring, and production support for complex integration points like build systems and rollback workflows. The role requires proficiency in Java, TypeScript, Python, or Go, along with experience in container orchestration, infrastructure automation, and DevOps practices. You will also leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to enhance development efficiency while ensuring high standards for quality and security within the cloud-native platform ecosystem.
Design, develop, and operate Merino platform capabilities for OCI-scale CI/CD and deployment orchestration.
Build scalable distributed services to improve workflow automation, deployment safety, and observability.
Implement high-quality software across the full lifecycle including testing, monitoring, and production support.
Develop integrations across build systems, release management, approvals, and rollback workflows.
Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and technical planning.
Apply AI-assisted engineering practices to improve development efficiency while maintaining production standards.
What we're looking for
Must have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building distributed systems, cloud services, developer platforms, or CI/CD infrastructure.
Must have strong programming experience in Java, TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar languages.
Must have experience designing, building, and operating production cloud services on OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent platforms.
Must have experience with CI/CD systems, DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, containers, orchestration, or deployment pipelines.
Must possess strong problem-solving skills, communication, collaboration, and software engineering fundamentals.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar coding assistants (preferred).
Experience reviewing, validating, and maintaining AI-generated code for production systems (preferred).
Experience using AI to accelerate development through code generation, testing, refactoring, documentation, or migration (preferred).
