The Senior Platform Software Engineer joins the OCI Infrastructure Planning and Capacity Management organization to develop platforms, services, workflows, and operational tooling for global cloud infrastructure management. You will utilize Java, Python, Go, or C# to build cloud-native applications, APIs, and data pipelines. The role requires expertise in distributed systems, relational databases, and CI/CD. You will solve complex engineering problems to automate infrastructure planning and operational decision-making for engineering, supply chain, and finance teams, ensuring reliable performance across the cloud footprint.

What you'll do

  • Own and evolve bounded platform components, service modules, and SDK areas for multi-tenant use.
  • Design and develop cloud-native software solutions, services, and APIs aligned with system architecture.
  • Perform deep debugging across distributed services to drive compatibility-safe remediation plans.
  • Implement targeted resilience, capacity optimizations, and performance profiling strategies.
  • Conduct functional and non-functional testing, including monitoring and observability for effective debugging.
  • Manage API versioning, lifecycle, and interoperability strategies for platform surfaces.
  • Execute periodic maintenance and patching operations to ensure system health and security.
  • Author and curate technical documentation, samples, and adoption guidance for team consumers.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience delivering production services or applications.
  • Strong programming ability in Java, Python, Go, C#, or a comparable modern language.
  • Experience building backend services, APIs, or cloud-native applications with relational and/or distributed databases.
  • Solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, and system design.
  • Familiarity with source control, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and observability.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Experience with distributed systems, scalable backend services, data pipelines, or cloud platforms like Kubernetes (preferred).
