Senior Platform Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, build, and operate Go services that form the core of the data engineering platform.
• Manage versioning, immutability, and dependency pinning for independently released platform components.
• Define deployment contracts, environment promotion models, and Kubernetes topologies for platform services.
• Drive operational excellence by establishing service level objectives, alerting, and automated rollback postures.
• Own the developer experience by building and maintaining command-line tools, APIs, and project scaffolding.
• Set engineering standards and technical direction for the organization's data and machine learning infrastructure.
• Author and scale AI-assisted development tools and agents for use by other engineering teams.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience building platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing systems.
• Strong Go skills with a track record of shipping production backend services and command-line tools.
• Deep hands-on Kubernetes experience including Helm, configuration layering, probes, and network policy.
• Demonstrated ownership of CI/CD pipelines, release engineering, and automated rollbacks.
• Strong relational database fundamentals including schema design, indexing, transactions, and managed migrations.
• Solid distributed systems fundamentals and hands-on concurrency in Go.
• Experience owning production services including on-call, incident response, telemetry, and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to author reusable skills or agents for AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu beyond consumption (preferred).
• Policy-as-code and configuration-as-code experience using OPA, Rego, PKL, CUE, or Jsonnet (preferred).
• Practical command of versioning, immutability, and reproducible builds in a real system (preferred).
• Experience building CLI or terminal-UI developer tools for large engineering populations (preferred).
• OpenTelemetry instrumentation and building trusted dashboards and alerts (preferred).
• Working knowledge of mTLS-based workload identity, certificate rotation, and secret management (preferred).
• Hands-on depth in PostgreSQL or CockroachDB (preferred).
• Exposure to data governance, privacy engineering, or compliance-driven requirements (preferred).
• Experience as a platform team member serving other engineering teams (preferred).
