What you'll do

  • Serve as the lead technical resource for protection and control issues across high voltage substations and renewable plants.
  • Provide technical support for regulatory and compliance requirements including PRC-028, PRC-029, and PRC-030 standards.
  • Lead NERC PRC compliance efforts including settings validation and performance monitoring for various standards.
  • Lead protection coordination and relay settings strategy across the fleet to ensure alignment with system studies.
  • Develop, review, and maintain protection philosophies, relay settings, and coordination strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional projects including fleet-wide procedure development and the onboarding of testing vendors.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on relay protection and disturbance analysis.
  • Represent the company in external forums, industry working groups, and engagements with utilities and regulatory bodies.

What we're looking for

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or similar major.
  • 5-8+ years of work experience in protection & control, power systems, substations, or renewable energy applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in protection & control of HV systems.
  • Experience with SEL products & tools.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Masters in Electrical Engineering with a Power Systems focus (preferred).
