The Senior Network Administrator joins the GD Mission Systems team to improve network resilience and stabilize operations for the CUI environment. This role involves providing senior-level administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for complex network infrastructure across multiple sites and programs. Key responsibilities include configuring Cisco switching and routing environments using OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and DMVPN, as well as administering Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto firewalls, and TACLANE devices. The candidate will support Cisco ISE, 802.1X authentication, and Zero Trust architecture while executing patching, vulnerability remediation, and configuration hardening. Technical tasks include monitoring performance trends, developing network diagrams, and supporting the transition to a future eWAN architecture. The position requires expertise in IPsec VPNs, L2 eVPN, and coordinating with carriers to resolve issues in a multi-site environment.
Provide senior-level administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for CUI network infrastructure.
Configure and maintain Cisco switching and routing environments including OSPF, BGP, and IPsec VPNs.
Administer firewall technologies including Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, and Panorama.
Support Cisco ISE, 802.1X authentication, and Zero Trust architecture.
Configure and troubleshoot TACLANE devices and coordinate related keying activities.
Perform network monitoring, analyze performance trends, and restore service during outages.
Execute patching, vulnerability remediation, and network configuration-hardening activities.
Develop network diagrams, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures.
What we're looking for
U.S. citizenship is required.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience plus 8 years of experience, or Master's degree plus 6 years of experience.
Current CCNP and Security+ certifications, or CCNP Security certification.
Ten or more years of relevant network administration, network engineering, or network security experience (preferred).
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco switching and routing technologies, including VLANs, VSS/VSL, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and IP addressing/subnetting.
Strong experience with Cisco ISE, 802.1X, and Zero Trust network-access concepts.
