Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead and provide direction to the Mechanical Lead Team across multiple programs and product lines.
• Develop workforce staffing plans to ensure sufficient skill mix and technical capacity for future growth.
• Execute operational plans for engineering capability development, process maturity, and tool strategy.
• Standardize mechanical engineering practices including design reviews, quality metrics, and issue escalation paths.
• Resolve complex technical and organizational problems using structured root-cause analysis and engineering judgment.
• Influence product architecture, packaging strategy, and manufacturability decisions during early program planning.
• Support business capture activities through customer engagement, proposal reviews, and technical risk assessments.
• Mentor and develop mechanical leads and senior engineers through coaching and succession planning.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 12 years of experience, or a graduate degree and 10 years of experience.
• Significant leadership experience leading experienced professionals, technical leaders, supervisors, or managers.
• Broad background in mechanical engineering for complex hardware systems including product development and manufacturing support.
• Demonstrated success influencing senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on execution and workforce strategy.
• Experience building operational plans, improving engineering processes, and leading organizations through change.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
• Master's degree or experience in aerospace/defense environments (preferred); knowledge of electronics packaging and thermal design (preferred).
