TL;DR · Senior Manager, Loan Salability & First-Line Model Governance

Senior Manager, Loan Salability & First-Line Model Governance joins the Secured Lending organization to build first-line risk and control infrastructure for home equity line of credit, auto direct, and auto indirect dealer products. You will lead a team of analysts to manage the end-to-end loan salability and asset quality function. Key responsibilities include monitoring portfolio-wide trends, tracking performance against investor thresholds, identifying systemic risks, and overseeing first-line model implementation and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams like Capital Markets, Engineering, and Compliance to ensure products remain within risk appetite and are exam-ready. The role requires expertise in loan quality review, collateral documentation, repurchase risk mitigation, and production model monitoring. Essential skills include managing reporting routines, identifying root causes for portfolio issues, and ensuring compliance with fair lending requirements and secondary-market quality standards.

What you'll do

  • Lead the asset quality and loan salability function for home equity and auto lending products.
  • Establish review methodologies, reporting standards, and escalation routines for a team of analysts.
  • Monitor portfolio-level salability risks including eligibility trends, defect patterns, and collateral documentation quality.
  • Track asset quality indicators such as early payment defaults, delinquency rates, and loss severity.
  • Oversee first-line model implementation, performance monitoring, version control, and usage boundaries.
  • Identify root causes of loan review findings and develop remediation plans to ensure regulatory readiness.
  • Evaluate origination channel quality regarding pricing consistency, concentration risk, and fair lending exposure.
  • Manage communication with capital markets and bank partners to mitigate repurchase and put-back risks.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of experience in business-line credit risk, loan quality, asset-backed or secured lending operations, or first-line model governance for consumer lending products.
  • Experience with loan-level quality review, loan salability oversight, Capital Markets delivery, and repurchase or put-back risk in a regulated environment.
  • Experience monitoring portfolio performance and asset quality indicators across multiple channels, including delinquency, loss severity, and credit policy exceptions.
  • Experience with first-line model oversight, production model monitoring, implementation governance, and model inventory documentation.
  • Experience partnering with Capital Markets, investors, or bank partners to resolve delivery exceptions and mitigate repurchase risk.
  • Experience leading analysts or managing a review function for loan salability, asset quality, or first-line model governance programs.
  • Familiarity with auto indirect/dealer channel dynamics, secondary-market quality expectations, and consumer fair lending requirements (preferred).
  • Ability to produce exam-ready policy documents and hold risk or compliance certifications like CRCM or FRM (preferred).
