JOB TITLE: Lead Software Engineer - Java, Spring Boot, Python, PySpark, Databricks, AWS
As a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the Consumer & Community Banking - Risk Technology Portfolio team, you will join an agile team to build and deliver secure, scalable technology products. You will design architectures for complex deliverables, develop high-quality production code, and maintain algorithms. Your daily work involves troubleshooting technical problems, driving AI-assisted engineering practices, and managing data pipelines. You will utilize Java, Spring Boot, Python, PySpark, and SQL to process large datasets and deploy machine learning models. Technical requirements include experience with AWS services like EMR, EC2, S3, and CloudWatch, along with Databricks and Spark cluster optimization. You will solve business problems by identifying patterns in data to improve system architecture, coding hygiene, and operational stability within a large corporate environment.
Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting for complex problems.
Drive adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronous algorithms.
Define the architecture for a series of complex technical deliverables.
Develop visualizations and reporting from large datasets to drive continuous software improvement.
Identify hidden patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
Drive AI/ML delivery best practices alongside standard software engineering practices.
Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value and support capacity unlock initiatives.
What we're looking for
Formal training and certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within a domain of expertise.
Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to create, validate, and refine outputs for security and performance.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Experience with Python, PySpark, Big Data, Data pipelines, Machine Learning, and strong SQL skills for data quality at scale.
Experience with Spark cluster optimization, AWS services (EMR, EC2, S3, CloudWatch), and Databricks for data pipelines and ML deployment.
Expertise with Java, Spring Boot, and high-volume, low-latency API solutions (preferred).
AWS certifications and exposure to workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow (preferred).
