As a Lead Software Engineer within the Consumer & Community Banking JPMWM Tech team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You are responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting secure, high-quality production code and architecture artifacts for complex applications. Your daily work involves analyzing large datasets to create visualizations, identifying hidden patterns to improve system architecture, and driving the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices. You will utilize a technical stack including Python, Java, AWS (ECS, S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Glue, pySpark), and Oracle, DB2, and Aurora Postgres databases. You must also leverage SRE and observability tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and Datadog, while managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Spinnaker, Bitbucket, and Terraform to ensure operational stability and application resiliency.

What you'll do

Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting for complex business functions.
Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronous algorithms.
Produce architecture and design artifacts while ensuring software code meets all design constraints.
Analyze large data sets to develop visualizations and reporting for continuous system improvement.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge and automation capabilities to improve overall development value.
Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues using advanced observability tools in multi-environment settings.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Proficiency in coding in one or more languages, specifically Java or Python.
Proficiency in private and public Cloud platforms, with in-depth knowledge of AWS ECS, S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Glue, pySpark, and CloudWatch.
Experience with SRE and Observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Datadog.
Proficiency in Oracle, DB2, and AWS Aurora Postgres databases with mandatory hands-on SQL experience.
Hands-on experience with software development tools, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Spinnaker, IntelliJ, Bitbucket), and Terraform for IaC.
Experience in Data Pipeline design, Cloud migration projects, and modern front-end technologies (preferred).
