Senior Lead Software Engineer, Platform / Linux Engineering

What you'll do

• Design, build, and operate high-performance Linux platforms for low-latency electronic trading from the hardware and kernel levels.
• Architect new system designs and deployment models including immutable infrastructure, containerization, and automated provisioning pipelines.
• Perform deep performance engineering including kernel tuning, CPU isolation, NUMA awareness, and kernel-bypass networking.
• Write production-quality code and automation to build tooling, eliminate manual toil, and improve platform reliability.
• Leverage Agentic AI tools to accelerate engineering tasks, automate research, and drive AI-assisted engineering practices across teams.
• Interface with hardware and software vendors to define next-generation infrastructure roadmaps and product requirements.
• Deliver reusable technical solutions across multiple domains and mentor SREs and peer engineers on technical best practices.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Strong programming skills to build production-grade tooling and automation using Python, Go, or Bash.
• Deep hands-on Linux engineering expertise in administration, internals, performance tuning, and benchmarking for low-latency environments.
• Hands-on experience with kernel-bypass networking, specifically Solarflare Onload, and configuration management tools like Chef or Ansible.
• Hands-on experience applying Agentic AI tools and enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to accelerate engineering tasks.
• Solid understanding of IPv4 networking, including the OSI model, routing, and network segregation mechanisms.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and cloud-native container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience leading cross-functional teams of technologists, including hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Experience with server hardware selection, BIOS/firmware tuning, and bare-metal provisioning (preferred).
• Familiarity with observability stacks, standard cryptography, and electronic trading messaging technologies (preferred).
• Experience with database management systems, preferably PostgreSQL (preferred).
