What you'll do

Design and develop secure, high-quality production code and maintain complex algorithms.
Create architecture and design artifacts while ensuring software code meets specific design constraints.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
Implement robust testing strategies using JUnit 5, Mockito, and test-driven development practices.
Manage large data sets to identify patterns and drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
Integrate enterprise messaging systems including IBM MQ and Apache Kafka into distributed architectures.
Coach engineers on the safe, compliant, and secure use of AI within engineering workflows.
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and other modern frameworks.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Proficiency in Java (11+ and 21) with Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Framework, and the broader Spring ecosystem.
Experience in enterprise messaging and integration using IBM MQ, Apache Kafka, and Apache Camel.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, JDBC, stored procedures, and DAO pattern implementation.
Strong testing skills using JUnit 5, Mockito, and Maven for dependency management.
Financial industry experience.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching others on responsible AI practices.
Experience with AWS Cloud Services (preferred).
Hands-on experience designing and implementing microservices and distributed systems (preferred).
Experience with Cucumber/BDD testing for acceptance testing (preferred).
