As a Senior Lead Site Reliability Engineer within the Corporate and Investment Bank Management and Support Functions Payments Technology team, you will define non-functional requirements and availability targets for various application product lines. You will be responsible for ensuring these requirements are integrated into design and test phases while implementing service level objectives to measure customer experience. Your daily work involves creating high-quality designs, roadmaps, and program charters while mentoring technologists and championing site reliability adoption. You will build robust observability and reliability designs for complex systems to eliminate toil and technical debt. Key skills include advanced knowledge of white and black box monitoring, telemetry collection, and the use of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate reliability design, incident analysis, and automated testing workflows within a secure, audited production environment.
Define non-functional requirements and availability targets for services within application and product lines.
Design and implement observability and reliability frameworks for complex systems to reduce toil and technical debt.
Utilize enterprise-authorized AI tools to accelerate reliability design, incident analysis, and requirements traceability.
Lead the adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows across the software development life cycle and toolchain.
Establish team practices for safe AI usage in operations while maintaining security and auditability controls.
Debug and evolve critical components by analyzing application and platform interdependencies.
Mentor technologists and serve as a champion for site reliability culture and adoption.
Contribute to the firm's site reliability community through internal forums, guilds, and conferences.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification in site reliability engineering concepts.
5+ years of applied experience in site reliability engineering.
Advanced understanding of site reliability culture, principles, and implementation within applications or platforms.
Advanced knowledge and experience in observability, including white/black box monitoring, SLOs, alerting, and telemetry collection.
Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve reliability workflows with strong validation habits and data sensitivity awareness.
Ability to set team practices for safe AI usage in operations while maintaining resiliency, security, and auditability.
Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with depth in one or more technical disciplines.
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate data-based solutions using reporting and visualization methods (preferred).
