Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain the core platform layer powering iCloud and backend services at hyperscale.
• Build and manage large-scale infrastructure for structured and unstructured storage, caching, queuing, and search.
• Design and evolve distributed systems using technologies like Kubernetes, Cassandra, Kafka, and Redis.
• Engineer high-concurrency applications utilizing multi-threading concepts to ensure system reliability.
• Automate operations processes through the development of custom services and internal tools.
• Implement infrastructure improvements focused on efficiency, safety, security, and rapid deployment.
• Manage large-scale server provisioning, maintenance, and fleet orchestration across global datacenters.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, an engineering-related field, or equivalent related experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a backend internet services software developer.
• Deep understanding of multi-threading concepts and the design of highly concurrent applications.
• Understanding of distributed system concepts including CAP Theorem, micro-services, and the Twelve Factor App.
• Knowledge of SDLC, including continuous integration, testing methodologies, TDD, and agile development.
• Fluency in high-level programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or Golang (preferred).
• Understanding of base internet infrastructure services like DNS, DHCP, LDAP, server virtualization, and monitoring.
• Experience with large scale provisioning, Kubernetes, hardware bootstrap, storage/caching, automation, configuration management, or cloud services (preferred).
